These 6 Burj Al Arab Cafes Made Us Forget About Our Office Coffee
Dining out has always been more of an experience for me. It’s not really about eating, as much as it’s all about tasting the food—letting the smell consume my senses before I actually take a bite of it. I’m a bit like Remy, the rat from the animated movie Ratatouille.
That’s why I’m very picky about the coffee shops (coffee shop) I visit. No matter how small or big it is, there has to be something that makes it super attractive. But the thing that really pulls me in is a great—no, fantastic—view (Dubai views).
And that made me curious about the cafes in Burj Al Arab. When I got the chance with my workmates to try a week of coffee and pastries there for an event, I jumped right on it. Here are the top spots we’ve hit so far. Check them out for your next fancy coffee fix!
What coffee shops can I find at Burj Al Arab?
There are a bunch of coffee shops you can find at Burj Al Arab! Notable ones for a delicious cup of Joe and snacks are Sahn Eddar, Bab Al Yam, Skyview Bar, and Gilt. These cafes offer gorgeous views too, so make sure to snap when you can!

Sahn Eddar is a Burj Al Arab cafe known for its coffee, light bites, and desserts. Here, you can also listen to live music from an Arabic band or string quartet. In our opinion, it provides a cozy atmosphere perfect for groups or families.
There are numerous drinks to choose from too! Still, we think you can’t go wrong with the 24-carat gold cappuccino or the signature hot chocolate.
We find the tea selection incredible too! We say try the Persian Rose white tea or the strawberry and mango tea combo for a refreshing choice sometimes.
Pro tip:
If you can’t choose among Sahn Eddar’s wide pastry selection, we recommend getting the assorted Arabic pastries instead—just a little bit of everything!

Bab Al Yam offers a casual cafe experience with outdoor seating options. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with coffee and late-night snacks.
But what we love the most about this dining spot is its breakfast specialties. We like the avocado feuilleté (puff pastry), toasted bresaola (air-dried, salted beef) waffle, and the royal eggs Benedict. These options are very fancy and hearty, we say.
Handy hack:
Want to make the most of Bab Al Yam’s breakfast options? Consider checking in at the 5-star Burj Al Arab Hotel. This way, you’ll get to enjoy the daily open buffet filled with international cuisine!

Skyview Bar, mainly a cocktail bar, also serves light bites and coffee in a picturesque setting with Dubai’s panoramic views. We believe it’s an ideal spot for enjoying refreshments and chilling while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
If you’ve got a big appetite, we love that this cafe provides an afternoon tea experience too! You’ll get fantastic savory picks like the King Crab tartelette (mini tart) and zucchini petals, as well as sweet options like mango flower rolls and pistachio raspberry cookies.

Gilt is a modern, high-end bar that offers a chic vibe alongside a selection of coffees and innovative cocktails. It’s known for its stylish decor and looks great for those looking to unwind in a luxurious setting.
But what fascinated us the most was the Toncafé shaken drink! It’s made of Irish whiskey, tonka (beans that taste like vanilla), almond liquor, cream, coffee, and black salt for a rich flavor. For us, this is handy if you can’t decide between alcohol and coffee.
Insider scoop:
We encourage asking to take the glass elevator to Gilt rather than the gold one. This allows you to access the most amazing views from Burj Al Arab!

Even though it’s mainly for fine dining, Al Muntaha offers a cafe-like experience during the day with coffee and light snacks available. We say go here if you want a casual bite during the day, as well as a romantic dinner in the evening.
Since this is a Michelin-starred French and Italian restaurant, we think you’ll miss out if you don’t try some of the signature dishes too! We recommend the Australian Wagyu or the chef’s Royal Seafood selection to maximize the luxurious experience.
Expert advice:
If you want a more curated experience at Al Muntaha, we suggest trying its tasting menu! And don’t worry about feeling full early on—we noticed that the portions are small to medium-sized so you can have more space for what’s more to come.

Al Samar Lounge is a Burj Al Arab cafe known for its big portions and afternoon tea. We also appreciate that its treats from cookies to cakes are freshly baked every day to ensure the diners get a more satisfying bite with the hot beverages.
There are several coffee options, but we recommend the Turkish coffee or the coconut matcha latte if you’re looking for something new.
And if you want to save more, note that among the most affordable items is the pastry basket—it’s got a croissant, Danish, and muffin to get you through the day!
Savvy suggestion:
Should you want to be pleasantly surprised or simply a change of pace, we suggest ordering the Café Gourmand at Al Samar Lounge—it’s basically getting your preferred coffee or tea with a daily dessert!
