We Had the Fanciest Retail Therapy at The Outlet Village in Dubai

My friends and I have always been super competitive. Back when we were kids, it was all about who had the best-dressed doll, the coolest artwork, or even the most obedient pet.

And this didn’t go away as adults. Recently, we held a fun contest (after salary day) on who can snag the best bargains. Unfortunately, I didn’t win this time. But I called for a rematch, and this time I promised I wasn’t going to lose.

After scouring the internet, I found that The Outlet Village in Dubai is a treasure trove of top fashion brands in perpetual sale. So of course, I couldn’t let me and my friends pass this up. Check out this little travel guide from our epic shopping spree.

What is The Outlet Village known for?

The Outlet Village is known as a shopping mall offering discounted luxury brands. Inspired by charming Italian villages, it provides a picturesque setting with cobblestone streets, medieval-style towers, and sophisticated archways.

Best Time to Go

The best time to go to The Outlet Village is 10 to 11 am and 3 to 4 pm, right before rush hour. Alternatively, 4 to 7 pm could be ideal for you ro avoid crowds.

What to Do in The Outlet Village

Admire the Architecture

The Outlet Village in Dubai prides itself on its lovely Italian-inspired design. It’s got this Tuscan village vibe with stone walls, cobblestone streets, glazed entries, and magnificent archways. For us, these standout features are for every old soul shopper!

On top of that, we like the big glass windows that let some sunlight in. We feel this seamlessly blends the indoor luxury with the outdoor village vibes—a unique experience with lots of photography opportunities, we say.

Attend Seasonal Sales and Events

Before heading to the mall, it’s smart to research occasional discounts and seasonal events beforehand to maximize your shopping spree.

For example, there’s the annual Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), summer deals, national holidays, Ramadan, and end-of-season sales to look forward to.

Enjoy a Relaxing Day

It’s not every day that you get to shop in a charming location like The Outlet Village in Dubai. Even if you’re only here to look around, taking a stroll seems entertaining and therapeutic in its own right.

We also like that there are outdoor seating areas here where you can just chill after a long day. When you have the time, don’t forget to take photos as the big and vibrant flowery decor seems like a pretty backdrop.

Where to Eat in The Outlet Village

Operation Falafel

Pricing: $

If you’re all about quick bites and long shopping, Operation Falafel could be for you! It offers a modern take on traditional Arabic delicacies and street food flavors.

Besides its famous falafels, we recommend beef shawarma (stacked thin layers of meat), and chicken salad. We also appreciate the vegan moussaka (layered casserole) for the conscious diners!

There aren’t a lot of desserts here. Still, we suggest getting your hands on the sticky date pudding if you have a sweet tooth.

Papa Murphy’s Pizza

Pricing: $

Craving some good ol’ pizza? Papa Murphy’s Pizza offers freshly baked ones served with a crispy thin crust. The staff makes dough from scratch too, so we believe it’s all fresh.

The highlights for us are the Margherita and Papa’s Favorite pizza with tons of toppings. And if you want a bit of a kick, we recommend the Spicy Chicken Bacon Ranch flavor too!

For those with kids in tow, we think the s’mores dessert would be a fantastic pick. But if you’re a pizza person through and through, we say don’t skip the Cinnamon Wheel—it’s a 10-inch dessert pizza with cinnamon, sugar, and cream cheese frosting.

Urban Seafood

Pricing: $$

Sick of all the meat? Urban Seafood offers a seafood platter with a little bit of everything—shrimp, salmon, and other fish—to satisfy your surfside cravings.

We also think the crab and cucumber salad are refreshing picks with nice heat. And to counter the spice, we bet the butternut toffee treat could help balance it out.

Yet another thing we appreciate is the mini-play zone with swings. If your kids don’t have the patience to wait around, at least they can keep themselves entertained.

Where to Shop around The Outlet Village

THE DEAL

THE DEAL is a small discount store offering tons of brands, like Gap, Coach, and TUMI. The deals can range from 30 to 70% off, so we reckon this is worth visiting for luxury gifts.

We think this shop is worth a 2-hour exploration too. While it’s typically well-stocked, it can take a while for some clients to find the right size, so we say patience is key!

Villeroy & Boch

Contact Details: +971 4 886 0461, [email protected]

Villeroy & Boch is a home goods store where you can find many beautiful and unique pieces. This includes dinner sets, cutlery, crystals, and glassware.

But what we like most are the collections. For us, this is great if you’re planning a themed dinner party. Some of our favorites are the French Garden, White Pearl, and Old Luxembourg collection for their classy styles.

And because lots of the items here are fragile, we appreciate that most would be bubble-wrapped so you won’t worry about bringing them around.

Priceless

Should you have a tight budget for an upcoming event, Priceless is the shop to the rescue! It’s basically a big store that provides high-end fashion pieces at great discounts.

It has a diverse collection of international brands, so women and kids have plenty to choose from. We also like that there are numerous cheap accessories here if you’re only looking to polish your attire.

Want to stay somewhere fancy? We think you’ll love it at Lapita, a 5-star resort with Polynesian island-inspired architecture.

There’s a wide range of accommodations too! You may opt for a simple, sleek room with a balcony or a swanky 3-bedroom villa with kitchenettes, living rooms, and private pools. But while there’s Wi-Fi here, keep in mind that it comes with a fee.

On top of that, we’re in awe of the dining options. There are 5 bars and restaurants, including Pan-Asian options. There are 2 outdoor pools too—one is for the kids, so adults can have an uninterrupted time to rejuvenate.

LEGOLAND Hotel is a colorful 4-star haven offering a non-stop day of fun for kids and kids at heart. It’s also adjacent to LEGOLAND Dubai Park and only a 9-minute stroll to Bollywood Parks Dubai.

As you’d likely expect, we love its vibrant and quirky rooms. They have unique styles with basic amenities, like Wi-Fi, TVs, minifridges, and tea and coffeemakers. All have interconnected kids’ sleeping areas with bunk beds too!

We think this spot also goes overkill with the fun with its play area and outdoor pool. If the shopping didn’t tire you out, we bet this accommodation just might.

Tips When Visiting The Outlet Village

Now that you’re in the know about the mall, here are a few tips to make your shopping experience a lot more convenient:

Bring your own shopping bag.
Note that several stores might not provide bags—some even charge for them! We think it’s wise to have your own. This is eco-friendly, anyway.

Save time with free shuttle buses.
Some hotels offer a complimentary shuttle that can take you to The Outlet Village—we say make the most of it!

Visit early in the day.
We recommend coming here during off-peak hours. This will get you away from crowds so you can shop (or window shop) in peace.

Wear a light jacket.
The indoor areas can get chilly, so it’s handy to have a jacket ready or wear layered clothing.
