The 5 Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Karama That Serve More Than Just Lentils
The worst vegetarian meal I ever had was this sad lentil “loaf” that tasted like cardboard. I’m not going to lie, that experience had me avoiding vegetarian dishes for a while.
But after eating at a few different spots in Karama with friends, I’ve had a change in opinion. I found restaurants that served creative twists on classic favourites, with flavours that were anything but boring.
If you’re looking for a reliable restaurant that respects your diet or are just curious about vegetarian dishes, here are the best vegetarian spots in Karama.
How much does it cost to eat at a vegetarian restaurant in Karama?
It costs at least 20 AED to eat at a vegetarian restaurant in Karama. This is just an estimate. The price will depend on what you order and where you eat.
1. Prasavore Restaurant

Address: Dar Al Karama – 28929 – Shop No. 8 – 93358 21st Street – Al Karama – Dubai – United Arab Emirates
Contact Details: +971503443638
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 11:30 PM
Prasavore is where I go for the sandwiches. Their paneer sandwich is my typical first pick.
The thick slices of cottage cheese are marinated in a peppery spice mix that always leaves me reaching for a glass of chai. It’s all layered between buttery grilled bread with a smear of mint chutney that’s more herb-forward than sweet.
The Mumbai Sandwich is my second pick. It’s stuffed with thinly sliced potatoes, cucumber, and tomatoes, and all held together by that tangy mint chutney.
Other customers I talked to loved the Arbi Ki Sabji. The taro root cubes are cooked until they’re fork-tender and absorb the cumin-heavy gravy. They’re brightened by a hint of amchur (dry mango powder).
The Uppwas Thali is equally popular. The samak rice is fluffy, and the peanut-laced curry complements the crispy potato patties perfectly.
The only con? This spot is tiny. I hardly had any elbow room at my table while I was eating.
Was absolutely delicious
“I had a wonderful dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I was especially impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in every dish. The menu offers a great variety of options, which made it easy to find something for everyone in our group. Whether you’re a fan of traditional favorites or looking to try something new, there’s something here for every taste. Highly recommended for anyone who values good food, high quality, and a satisfying variety!”

2. Swadist Pure Veg Restaurant

Address: Street # 4C – Al Karama – Dubai – United Arab Emirates
Contact Details: +97143342920
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 6 AM to 11 PM
Swadist’s affordable lunch buffet starts at 12 PM and ends at 3:30 PM. They serve a rotating lineup of South Indian and Indo-Chinese comfort dishes.
Their Gobi Manchurian stood out for me. Swadist’s version balances crispy batter with a sticky-sweet-spicy glaze that clings to each bite without turning the cauliflower into mush.
The Schezwan Cheese Masala Dosa is popular among regulars, and it’s easy to see why. The spicy potato mash paired with melted cheese makes for a fiery, indulgent dish. Only thing is, it’s messy—it’s the kind of dish that demands a fistful of napkins.
Now, if you come on the weekend, they have a really good padenji bajil. These steamed rice dumplings are soaked in coconut milk. They’re soft, slightly sweet, and I tasted the cardamom in every bite.
As far as the service goes, I can’t complain too much. Although I did have to wait in line a bit for the buffet, the wait staff was attentive. They came by my table, asked if I needed anything else, and even gave me recommendations on what to try.

3. Punjab PureVeg by Amritsr Pure Vegetarian Restaurant in Dubai

Address: Shop no. 3, 1 Kifaf Bldg – 1st St – opposite Spinneys – Al Karama – Dubai – United Arab Emirates
Contact Details: +971582024300
Operating Hours: Open 24 Hours
Punjab Pure Veg is where people go for vegetarian fusion food done right. Here they serve Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and more.
People who sampled their Mexican cuisine enjoyed the vegetable cheese enchiladas. The enchiladas come with spiced veggies drenched in tomato sauce and a molten layer of cheese.
The Italian options are equally satisfying. The spinach and basil pesto is creamy and tossed with al dente pasta and enough garlic to ward off vampires.
My personal favourite? The vegetable Schezwan noodles. These have bite—crunchy carrots, cabbage, and peppers tangled with chewy noodles and just enough chilli to make my nose run.
The Punjabi Deluxe Thali is one of the most popular menus for Punjab Pure Veg’s vegetarian regulars. The rotis are flaky, and the dal tadka is slow-cooked until the lentils melt in your mouth.
Service-wise, the restaurant is a bit chaotic. There are times when the line is almost out the door, and people complain about the long wait.
Food is clean and so tasty
”I always like to try new foods from different countries and the Punjab PureVeg by Amritsar restaurant is one of the best Indian places I visited in Dubai. The food is clean and so tasty and the most important for me is that it’s not spicy at all, so it makes me feel more comfortable to enjoy my dinner. I’ll add it on my favorite restaurant list.
I recommend it for everyone specially for Arabs and people who don’t like too spicy food like me 😍🥰”

4. MyGovindas – Karama – Best Pure Vegetarian Restaurant in Dubai

Address: Ground Floor, City Tower – Dubai – United Arab Emirates
Contact Details: +97143960088
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 8:30 AM to 11:30 PM
My Govindas nails the basics of North Indian vegetarian comfort food. The crispy Aloo Tikki Chaat I ordered came smothered in a tangy tamarind chutney and minty green sauce that had me licking my fingers.
Their Pav Bhaji is cooked until it’s almost caramelised, with a smoky undertone. The pav (those buttery, slightly toasted buns) are perfect for scooping, though I’d argue the bhaji is good enough to eat solo with a spoon.
Other diners who eat here rave about the Aloo Bhindi Masala. The okra is fried until its edges curl into crispy ribbons, which many seem to love.
The soft potato cubes absorb all the flavours of the tomato-onion gravy that’s spiced with just enough jeera and chilli to warm the throat.
As for the Malai Kofta, these cottage cheese dumplings pop against the savoury cashew gravy. But it was a little too rich for my tastes, and the portion was small.
The staff were attentive and provided a very good service
”We had a lovely meal at MyGovindas, Karama. The staff were attentive and provided a very good service. The food was delicious and the spiciness was made to our taste. Lots of variety to suit all tastes.
Highly recommend this place for those who enjoy tasty vegetarian and satvik food.”

Perfectly prepared and ready on time

Despite the hot weather, Suresh welcomed me warmly with a smile, offered me cold water, and spoke with great respect. The order was perfectly prepared and ready on time, so there was no waiting. Excellent service and a very pleasant experience overall.”

5. Kavala Mane Restaurant (Karnataka & Maharashtrian Style Vegetarian Food)

Address: B4 Building Shaikh – Shop#5 – 5th St – Al Karama – Sheikh Hamdan Colony
Contact Details: +971565627764
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 7 AM to 11 PM
- Friday to Sunday – 7 AM to 11:30 PM
Kavala Mane is known for their KM Special – Masala Paddu. When I ordered it, the bite-sized dumplings were filled with grated carrot, onions, and green chillies.
I couldn’t resist dipping them in the coconut chutney. It was creamy, with a backhand slap of ginger. It took everything in me not to inhale all 12 pieces in one go.
Another dish that’s popular here is their Mandakki Susla (Churumuri). It’s a puffed rice salad that’s pretty much Bangalore street food in a bowl. Diners love the crunch of the peanuts and the cool drizzle of yoghurt over the curry leaves.
But it’s the Full Thali meal that seems to capture the hearts of most vegetarians I talked to. It comes loaded with three types of sabzi (tangy eggplant, peppery beans, and a potato curry).
The jowar rotti tastes a bit bland on its own, but tastes better dipped in the shenga chutney—roasted peanuts ground with garlic and chilli.
All the items in the combo were exceptionally good
“I had ordered Aamras Combo from
smiles. It included – Aamras , Puri, Upma, Sheera and Mini Masala Dosa. Being Maharashtrain I love Aamras and I must say all the items in the combo were exceptionally good. Will definitely order again from this place❤️❤️❤️❤️

Enjoyed everything we tried
“Dined at this restaurant for the first time. It’s a hot summer, and there is no indoor seating. We managed to sit next to a cooler fan for breakfast. The food offers a refreshing change for regular Kerala cuisine lovers, featuring Karnataka and Maharashtra dishes. I enjoyed everything we tried. As we had many friends together most of the items were attempted.
If the restaurant addresses the lack of air conditioning, it could be an excellent spot for both breakfast and dinner.”
