Their teachers are all classically-trained piano teachers, so they’re a good option if you want to master the fundamentals. That means they’ll really drill you on the basics and will be very particular with skill and technique.

Not only that, but they also really aim to help you to have better stage presence, musical sense, and ability to perform. They  encourage and arrange performances where you get to showcase what you learned, both privately and publicly.

They’re a great option if you want hands-on experience and gain confidence in performing in front of other people.

What we like most about My Music Head is the musical community they have fostered that really encourages you to learn an instrument and love music more. You also get autonomy on which instrument you want to learn and what setup works the best for you.

They also give a free trial class so you’ll get a feel of their teaching style and curriculum. Aside from piano, they also offer the following classes:

With over 590 happy students across 8 classes, Vasalive (Music & Arts School) has earned a solid reputation as a music school in Dubai. To start with, they have a comprehensive piano curriculum that involves practice sessions guided by teachers.

Their curriculum targets music theory, music history, composition, ear training, among other things. The curriculum is very structured, with different levels of difficulty fit for every stage of learning.

Take note that each semester takes around 20 weeks. The curriculum also ensures that the student is exam-ready at Trinity College, London at the end of their given course.

This is great if that’s your goal for playing and really want to take playing the piano seriously. Definitely not ideal for more casual players, on the other hand.

Anyway, they have very qualified instructors with lots of years of experience. Based on our experience, they’re very attentive, thorough, and encouraging.

Their center has a welcoming atmosphere that makes for a conducive environment for learning. They also give a free trial lesson, so you’ll get to experience their teaching methods and figure out if it’s for you or not.

They also have affordable lessons compared to the other schools. They even offer a family discount if more than one member of your family enrolls at their school.

Aside from piano lessons, they offer the following classes:

  • Drums classes
  • Violin classes
  • Guitar classes
  • Vocal classes
  • Keyboard classes

Their range of classes is decidedly among the shortest we found, though. On the other hand, they do tend to have more focused and specialized lessons than many others.

They’re very accessible on Whatsapp from what we’ve experienced, so you can contact them there for inquiries. However, their website doesn’t have a whole lot of information about their classes, making it inconvenient to learn about their services.

  • Comprehensive piano curriculum
  • Fully-equipped center
  • Free trial lesson

  • Range of classes not as extensive as competitors
  • Not a lot of info on website

In their own words, Musical Expression Institute is a place where “music is taught with passion, and learned in an enjoyable, serious and efficient way”. Their curriculum mixes practical know-how, music theory, and solfeggio.

Their curriculum for teaching instruments is based on that of prestigious European conservatories. Depending on the student’s age and skill level, they’ll be taught either with the classical, contemporary, or jazz curriculum.

What we noticed, however, is that their curriculum is very structured and not that flexible for individual needs. So, if you’re looking for a more customizable curriculum, it might be best to check elsewhere.

Aside from piano, they teach guitar, voice lessons, saxophone, flute, and violin. Their range of classes is a bit limited compared to some other schools again, so note that if you’re looking to dabble in something other than piano.

Their founder, Philippe El Hage, personally supervises the courses taught at the institute, which we like. We were also impressed by the music teachers’ qualifications and experience in teaching.

Based on our experience, the teachers are very patient, passionate, and encouraging towards students. It makes learning fun and engaging.

They even offer master classes and specialized training with invited musicians to share their experiences and technique with the students, which is a great opportunity for students of any level.

They also plan and hold yearly performances for their students to showcase what they’ve learned.  So, if you want to be more comfortable with performing on stage, this school is a strong option for you.

What we like most is the community they have formed within the school and the culture of acceptance and genuine appreciation for music they foster.

  • Varied and structured curriculum
  • Qualified teachers
  • Solid community ties
  • Performance opportunities

  • Limited range of classes aside from piano
  • Curriculum is not that flexible
  • Inconsistent operating hours

Star Music Studio is not as big as the other schools in this list. However we think they’re worth mentioning because of their wide range of classes and unique offerings.

With over 300 students, 15 instruments taught, and over 20 instructors, they have built a solid reputation for themselves as a music school in Dubai.

Since they’re a smaller school, the instruction will be more focused and they’ll really get to monitor individual progress of students. So, if you prefer that over big institutes, they’re a great option for you.

Their teachers are very friendly and accommodating based on our experience with their classes. They really ensure that you learn efficiently and thoroughly.

What’s unique about them is they’re the only school with two recording studios. So, students will get the chance to professionally record their pieces and jam with other students.

They follow the Trinity College London curriculum, but you also have an option to personalize your curriculum, which we like. That way you’ll get to tailor it according to your needs and skill level.

They cater to students of any age or level of music background. However, we think that this school is best suited to those who have prior experience with playing the piano and just want to improve their skills to better maximize the experience.

They also hold master classes for their students who want to learn from distinguished musicians. You have to book a slot to get in the class, however, and there’s additional payment.

  • Customizable curriculum
  • Has recording studios
  • Focused instruction
  • Holds master classes

  • Better for those with experience than complete beginners
  • Smaller school than competitors
