1. TakaHisa Japanese Restaurant

Website: takahisa.ae
Address: Banyan Tree Dubai, First Floor
Contact: +971 4 556 6688 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 AM
TakaHisa Japanese Restaurant is a Michelin-starred venue that pairs authentic seafood courses with world-class A5-grade Ozaki beef, giving you the best of both worlds.
They even fly their fresh catches straight from Japan’s Toyosu Market up to five times a week to guarantee top-tier freshness.
Plus, they sweeten the deal by using artisanal Hatta honey sourced directly in partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Royal Family.
We actually sat at their dedicated counter recently, and watching Master Chef Takashi Namekata prepare those intricate dishes right in front of us was mesmerizing. His 15 years of experience in Tokyo really shine through every single bite.
Just keep in mind that you can’t dine outside on their beautiful terrace, since that space is reserved for their sister restaurant. You also have to follow a strict “smart elegant” dress code after 6:00 PM.
The Chef’s are making art
This is my favourite restaurant in Dubai for Japanese. Ambiance is elegant but completely unpretentious. The food is exceptional, never have I had such fresh and tasteful dishes, I highly recommend the Beef Shabu Shabu, the Katsu Sando and Abalone. But you must try their Omakase experience, the Chef’s are making art, so coordinated and this is the most authentic sushi I found in the whole city! After all of this you still have a life show for the sorbet making, it’s delicious and refreshing. A must try in Dubai.

Every single course was unforgettable
TakaHisa is not just dining… it’s a whole experience.
From the moment you walk in, the level of hospitality makes you feel so special and taken care of. Every detail, every moment — just flawless.
We went for the omakase, and honestly, every single course was unforgettable. One of those places you keep thinking about long after you leave.
If you’re looking for something truly elevated in Dubai… this is it. ✨

2. Omakaseya Dubai

Website: omakaseyadubai.com
Address: 1st, Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel, Baniyas Rd., Riggat Al Buteen
Contact: +971 52 681 5547
Hours: Monday-Sunday, 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Visual transparency is pretty rare in traditional Japanese fine dining, but Omakaseya Dubai changes the game by offering detailed photos of their course menus.
With that, you know exactly what gorgeous, seasonal dishes are coming your way before you even take a seat. It completely takes the guesswork out of your meal.
They also offer a flexible à la carte menu if you want to mix things up, all served in a serene space featuring warm lighting and rich wood textures.
However, their fixed set-course format leaves very little room for customization if you want to swap out specific dishes during the main omakase journey.
You also have to brave a 10-minute outdoor walk from Union Station if you take the Metro, which gets pretty sweaty during Dubai’s peak summer months.
The whole experience felt smooth and relaxed
We had a great experience at Omakaseya Dubai. From the moment we arrived, Joy and Jade made us feel very welcome and looked after us really well throughout the meal. The service was attentive and friendly, and the whole experience felt smooth and relaxed. The chef delivered a well-paced omakase with high-quality ingredients, and the OTORO sashimi was specially memorable it was rich, buttery, and melt in your mouth. The unagi nigiri was just amazing, fresh and perfectly balanced. Black sesame ice cream is sooo good.

I enjoyed eating too much
An amazing experience the Omakase way. Each course – sashimi, nigiri, maki – were all fresh and were beautifully and skillfully prepared by chef JR. The restaurant has an intimate feel. The servers Joy and Jade are both welcoming and attentive. We enjoyed it so much. What a bonus this time because they are on promo and we paid only Dhs199/person for the unlimited sushi. Only had a few photos because I enjoyed eating too much.

3. Hōseki

Website: bulgarihotels.com/
Address: Jumeira Bay Island, Jumeira 2
Contact: +971 4 7775555 | [email protected]
Hours: Wednesday, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM | Thursday-Sunday, 1:00 PM- 6:00 PM, 8:30 PM
Perched on the fourth floor of the Bulgari Resort, Hōseki is a 17-seat venue that pairs one Michelin star dining with glittering skyline views.
Executive Chef Masahiro Sugiyama brings a 160-year-old family legacy from Tokyo to craft a bespoke journey based entirely on your tastes and the morning’s freshest market imports.
Because the chef tailors everything on the spot, no two dining sessions are ever the same. While some folks might search for teppanyaki spots for a fiery show, this experience is all about quiet, focused culinary art.
Snagging one of those 17 seats is tough, though, especially for larger groups. You absolutely must book your reservation well in advance, as they don’t accept walk-ins.
This restaurant is the highlight of my trip to Dubai
This restaurant is the highlight of my trip to Dubai. I haven’t run across anything close to this anywhere else. If you’re after an very authentic Omakase experience, then Hoseki is the only place I can recommend in the Middle East. You step into Japan the minute you walk in and just sit back and enjoy some of the finest Japanese traditions that you’ll come across short of going to Tokyo.

The experience was tailored well with interesting flavor combinations
Best Omakase in Dubai: yes. Very beautiful design. The experience was tailored well with interesting flavor combinations. The food was fresh & beautifully prepared. Located in the Bvlgari Hotel. Make sure to make a reservation in advance & go in with an empty stomach! You have an option between choosing two types of set menus.

4. Moonrise

Website: moon-rise.xyz
Address: Eden House, Al Satwa
Contact: +97150 697 2946 | [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 5:00 PM, 7:15 PM, 9:30 PM
Sitting on a rooftop in Satwa, Moonrise, an ultra-exclusive 15-seat chef’s table, takes a totally different approach to the typical Japanese tasting menu.
Award-winning Chef Solemann Haddad blends Japanese culinary techniques with hyper-local Middle Eastern ingredients to create a signature style he calls Dubai Cuisine.
Here, you’ll enjoy an expansive 12-course degustation format. They source their produce directly from UAE growers and top international artisans, ensuring every dish pops with intense flavor.
But if you’re a strict traditionalist hunting for classic Edo-style sushi, their heavy focus on Middle Eastern fusion might catch you off guard.
Additionally, the rigid 12-course structure requires a big time commitment, so it isn’t ideal for a quick bite.
Huge fan of this restaurant and everything it stands for

Solemann has built something special along with his team
My 32nd birthday was one for the books. I treated myself to their curiously good, multi-award-winning Omakase-style dinner a little over a fortnight ago, and am I glad I did. Solemann has built something special along with his team – please experience it for yourself. I’d also like to highlight Ashley, whose warm hospitality elevated an already intimate dining experience. Thank you, guys.

Came for my one year anniversary and it was exceptional. We ordered the Omakase multi course tasting menu. We got both the Signature and Dubai menu to taste everything. Everything was delicious. We also loved the cocktails. Our server Mario also gave us excellent service. We will definitely come back.

Highly recommended, you won’t regret it
Amazing restaurant and vibe. Was probably my favourite restaurant while staying in Dubai. The food is top notch and the service was incredible. They took deep care of my wife’s allergies and made changes to the omakase menu just for her. Highly recommended, you won’t regret it!
