The 4 Best Nursing Schools in Dubai
Nurses are in charge of being the eyes and ears of doctors and other medical professionals in a healthcare facility. They can monitor and treat patients with the education and training they receive.
With the high demand for nurses both in and out of Dubai, you might be interested in enrolling in a nursing course or training program to get into the industry. If so, here are our top recommendations for the best nursing schools in the city.
How Much Do Nursing Schools Cost
Now, prices will depend solely on the school and the type, of course, you will be taking. There are multiple types available: the basic bachelor of science in nursing and the certified nursing assistant (CNA) program.
The bachelor’s degree is a two-year course, where the school will charge the fees per semester.
We would like to note that additional fees for this degree are not included. For reference, additional charges such as examination, lab, and library fees, can cost you AED 3,000.
On the other hand, the CNA program will run for about two weeks only. You will only need to pay the corresponding fee for this program once.
The table below lists the estimated tuition fees for the said courses:
The Best Nursing Schools in Dubai
Here’s what we’ve considered while assessing the schools in this list:
1. Strong Point Educational and Training Institute
Criteria | Ratings |
Curriculum | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Faculty | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Facilities | ★★★☆☆ (3/5) |
Price | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Strong Point Educational and Training Institute is an establishment that provides various sessions and programs for professionals and students.
The school’s courses focus on providing education and training for a short amount of time. We’re talking about review courses for examinations and certifications.
Aside from that, they also provide extra short courses for medical professionals. These include nursing, where they have nursing assistant training for students.
The classes run both online and offline, where students will have to go to the center’s location for some classes. There are also courses that can be fully taken online.
For their certified nursing assistant training course, it runs for two weeks, where the client can learn how to be a professional CNA for AED 4500.
We do have to point out that this is exclusively a CNA course school. This means that if you’re looking for a nursing degree, we recommend looking for another company.
Strong Point Educational and Training Institute has several rooms available for their classes. While the desks are comfortable, the space can be too small so it’s only ideal for a lower number of students.
Interested parties can send a message on their website, which has 24/7 support. Alternatively, we recommend calling their hotline to get more information and officially enroll for one of their classes.
We recommend Strong Point Educational and Training Institute for their KHDA-approved CNA training courses!
Pros
- KHDA approved
- Online and offline courses available
Cons
- CNA only
- Appointments required

2. Mohammed Bin Rashid University Of Medicine and Health Sciences
Criteria | Ratings |
Curriculum | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Faculty | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Facilities | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Price | ★★★☆☆ (3/5) |
Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) is a healthcare and medical college that offers both academic and practical training for future professionals. They also specialize in doing research.
In terms of nursing, this college is only offering post-graduate courses. We recommend looking for another school if getting a master’s degree is not on your to-do list.
For interested parties, MBRU’s College of Nursing and Midwifery offers two specializations for their courses. They can choose to get a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Nursing or Pediatric Nursing.
A great aspect about their courses is the attached accreditation to them. The school is certified by the Ministry of Education, which shows that their classes are legitimate.
Aside from that, the faculty here are experienced as well! We’ve observed that most of them have the corresponding PhDs for the classes they teach, and some have experience working in the field for more than a decade.
We would also recommend MBRU for their facilities. From their spacious and well-upholstered classrooms and lecture halls, the college has a separate facility for training.
This is their medical simulation training center, which is equipped with the materials and equipment needed to teach the students how to respond to different health-related situations.
Now, with great facilities also comes a hefty price tag. According to some of the students we’ve talked to, their fees can reach up to AED 160,000 a year– which is expensive.
Pros
- Experienced faculty
- Spacious and well-designed classrooms
- Has a separate facility for medical simulations
Cons
- Offers master’s degree in nursing only
- Can get a bit expensive

3. University of Wollongong in Dubai
Criteria | Ratings |
Curriculum | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Faculty | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Facilities | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Price | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Opened in 1993, University of Wollongong in Dubai is a multi-disciplinary college. From business, to engineering, and to healthcare – they certainly cover a wide spectrum of fields of study.
Looking at their nursing course – it’s certainly for a specific set of students. Named Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion), this course is for registered and degree-holder nurses who need to hold their professional status in the UAE.
Once again, if you’re looking for a college that offers a nursing degree for high school graduates, this University will not be of help.
This bridging program is a two-year course that can only be enrolled by students who have met the university’s admission requirements. So it can be tough to enroll here if you don’t meet the standards.
However, once you’ve qualified for enrollment and have finished the bridging program, you will have met the Ministry of Health’s requirements to practice as a registered nurse anywhere in the UAE.
Aside from this, all of the courses in the university are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the UAE Ministry of Education and are licensed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
Another great aspect about this university are their teachers. Looking at their resume and backgrounds, we’ve observed that most of them are all PhD holders– so you know that your professors would be knowledgeable in their chosen fields.
Overall, we advise looking into fees and admission policies of University of Wollongong in Dubai if you’re looking for a school to take your master’s degree in!
Pros
- Expert faculty
- Accredited courses
- Affordable tuition fees
Cons
- Courses for nurses with degrees only
- Limited parking spaces

BONUS. Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University
Criteria | Ratings |
Curriculum | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Faculty | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Facilities | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Price | ★★★☆☆ (3/5) |
Established in 2006, the Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University is a medical university in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Let’s address the elephant in the room — this is not in Dubai. The university offers transportation services though, for students outside of Ras Al Khaiman.
These include people in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman & Umm Al Quwain. We would like to note that students availing the institution’s transportation are required to shell out around AED 6,250.
We do recommend this university because of a few things. The first being the nursing courses they offer.
The institution’s College of Nursing offers three types of courses: the basic Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, which is a four-year program fully accredited by UAE’s Ministry of Education.
The second is the bridging program for nurses who already have finished their BSNs and need to complete a degree to practice in the Emirates.
Heads up though: this is only for registered nurses who have completed a Diploma in Nursing and have two years clinical experience.
The last option is a master’s degree in nursing. The student can pick from four different specializations: Adult Health & Gerontology Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health, and Community Health Nursing & Midwifery Nursing.
In terms of fees, the base tuition fees are fairly priced. Enrolling in this school, however, can get a little expensive with all the additional fees that will be stacked on top of your basic fees.
For example, the nursing courses are priced around AED 22,000 – AED 30,000 per semester. If we add membership, examination, laboratory, and other miscellaneous fees, we estimate that a student can pay another AED 10,000 – 15,000.
Overall, if you don’t mind traveling outside Dubai and would like to be enrolled in a university that offers multiple nursing courses, then we recommend giving Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University a call!
Pros
- Multiple nursing courses offered
- Has transportation services for students in Dubai
- Offers special tuition fee discounts
Cons
- Not Dubai-based
- Can get a bit expensive
