Balancing a good mix of Egyptian and international cuisine, Cairo Gourmet immediately comes up when talking about the best Egyptian restaurants in Dubai. It’s easily located along the Sheikh Zayed Road, just on the ground floor.
Cairo Gourmet has a large seating area, giving you plenty of spaces to choose from depending on your group. Pair that with a pleasant view of the Dubai Water Canal and you get a nice scenic location for a date or event.
There’s also sufficient parking for those coming in with cars. Just note that street parking here is paid.
Food served at Cairo Gourmet is excellent. In addition to Egyptian staples such as falafel, Egyptian sandwiches, and grilled meats, you also get more ‘gourmet’ meals such as steak, lamb chops and pasta.
As such, there’s no need to worry about bringing in kids who may not be used to Egyptian cuisine yet. There’s plenty of options to ease them into it in the meantime.
For drinks, you get your choice of different fruit smoothies and teas; all prepared fresh in the restaurant which we think is just perfect for beating the Dubai heat.
Service does take a while though, since the food is cooked fresh in the house. However, the staff are very pleasant and attentive to our needs and inquiries.
As you might expect, it does mean their food is on the more expensive side, especially compared to many other restaurants in Dubai. However, we do think the experience is worth the visit.
Cairo Gourmet is definitely considered one of the best Egyptian restaurants in Dubai for a reason. We definitely recommend checking them out on your next lunch out!
Pros
- Wide, spacious seating area
- Very professional and helpful staff
Cons
- Food is on the pricey side
- Service time is longer than other establishments

For families and larger groups of friends, you can check out Koshari Abu Tarek; another great Egyptian restaurant in Dubai.
The restaurant serves up plenty of amazing food at more affordable prices, making it a great place to try out a wide array of food in one go.
Seating area is quite spacious, which is why we really recommend it for bigger groups. The overall ambiance reminds us of a school canteen of course, with the tall ceilings and bright lights.
As per the name of the place, Koshari Abu Tarek is popular for their ‘koshari’; Egypt’s national dish and most popular street food which mixes pasta, Egyptian fried rice, lentils, and a zesty tomato sauce with chickpeas and fried onions.
Vegetarians and vegans should enjoy the selection of items on offer as plenty of them eschew the use of animal meat if you’re trying to cut back. Check out their rice pudding too while you’re there.
Some of the portion sizes served are admittedly, on the small side but, we think the more affordable prices do balance it out.
Service in the Koshari Abu Tarek is quite fast, making it perfect for busier people. You definitely don’t need to wait long to start enjoying your koshari and freshly-squeezed fruit juice.
So if you’re cutting down on the meat without losing the flavor, definitely check out the vegetarian options served at Koshari Abu Tarek! We promise you won’t regret it.
Pros
- Vegan and vegetarian-friendly menu
- Very reasonable pricing for food
Cons
- Portion sizes are quite small
- Takes time to respond to phone inquiries

3. Labash – Dubai Festival City

FACILITIES | ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) |
RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE | ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) |
FOOD | ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) |
AMBIANCE | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
CUSTOMER SERVICE | ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) |
PROFESSIONALISM | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |

ACCESSIBILITY | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Celebrated for its amazing fried and grilled chicken, beef, and fries, Labash at Dubai Festival also makes it among the best Egyptian restaurants in Dubai.
In stark contrast to Koshari Abu Tarek, Labash opts to focus more on the meat in order to showcase their frying and grilling techniques and spices.
They’ve got a great location in the Skywalk Food Court at Festival City, giving us a nice, relaxing ambiance to enjoy their dishes in. The cool earthy tones also blend well with the style of cuisine they’re serving in the restaurant.
From there, you get your choice of shawarma strips (either chicken or beef), French fries drizzled with spices and flavorings, and even crunchy chicken tenders.
Try their Labash skewers as well, which is definitely one of the best meats we’ve eaten from the restaurant.
As for drinks, you get the standard selection of sodas, juices, and cold teas to help watch it down. Still good, but the food is the definite highlight in the restaurant.
When dining inside though, we do want to note that it’s usually served in a long sheet of paper spread out all over your table. It’s a bit different and the paper does catch the oil well enough, but you can expect some mess once you’re done.
Food’s also on the pricier side, though it doesn’t reach the level of some of the pricier places we’ve visited. Nonetheless, we do recommend Labash as one of the best Egyptian restaurants in Dubai, especially when you’re hungry.
Pros
- Excellent grilled and fried options
- Very convenient location
Cons
- Food’s a bit on the pricier side
- Eating can be quite messy

While you’re out and about uptown Mirdif, catch a glimpse of the Grand Arabesk restaurant at 47th street. There’s a little walk involved depending on where you’re coming from but it’s been a great experience for us.
Grand Arabesk is a place known for serving up delicious Egyptian breakfasts, making it an amazing stop before the morning rush. Additionally, you also get a fantastic selection of pies, grilled meats, and kebabs for lunch!
You get to choose whether you want to dine indoors or in the outdoor seating area. We do want to point out that the outdoor area is quite small and it can be quite crowded in the afternoons.
As for the food, it’s all well-made and delicious. Starting from breakfast, you get egg pastrami, a mixed fried plate made with potatoes and eggplants, and Egyptian shakshouka.
Those who’re really hungry though may want to opt for the Grand Mix Breakfast, which gives you boiled eggs, falafel, moussaka, and even mashed potatoes!
Good place for a working lunch too, giving you a wide array of Egyptian sandwiches made with falafel, eskandri liver, and Egyptian sausages. There’s a good array of salads too, making it a great stop for vegetarians.
Staff are also quite knowledgeable and very attentive. They were able to attend to our needs fast and answer our questions about ingredients and the like.
Price has risen a bit in recent years but we still found the Grand Arabesk as one of the best Egyptian restaurants in Dubai. We definitely recommend checking them out when you’re at Mirdif.
Pros

- Very knowledgeable and attentive staff
Cons
- Space is a little small outside
- Food has gotten a little pricier

Lastly, prepare to indulge in a magical atmosphere once you step into the Kazoza Restaurant. It’s an Egyptian-style restaurant presenting diverse dishes and tastes from the region.
Their kitchen is able to serve up a wide array of food ranging from steamed dishes, grilled meats and vegetables, fried items, and even a few baked goods. No matter what kind of food style you’re craving, they should be able to prepare it.
And as the place is set at Palm Jumeirah, you do get nice views of the Atlantic. We recommend coming in at night, when the lights dim down, so you can get a surprisingly romantic view of the beach.
Menu’s quite luxurious in our opinion. It’s a very well-done take on your favorite grilled meats, mezze, and stews.
We also recommend trying out their Egyptian tea, as well as some of the Egyptian pastries and dips. It’s perfect for those who want to keep things light enough during the meal.
Staff service at the restaurant is very professional and friendly. They were quite attentive to our needs and were able to answer most of our questions regarding the menu and ingredients used.
Do note that because of its location, a lot of its items are quite pricey compared to other places. Some portions are also small at a glance though they do come in a big set to compensate.
Overall, Kazoza Restaurant’s not a bad place to unwind after a long day at the Palm. We definitely recommend checking it out.
