1. KOYO
Criteria | Ratings |

Location | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Customer Service | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
KOYO is a restaurant and bar in Dubai known for its Japanese cuisine. So, if you’re looking for a fancy place to dine in, this restaurant may be just for you.
The establishment can also be rented as an event space, with its aesthetically pleasing and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant clearly takes inspiration from Japanese culture with its design choices.
If there’s one thing we didn’t like as much, it was the lighting. Since it’s also a bar, you’ll notice that everything is darker and red to the point that it may be not pleasing for some– so that’s a heads up!
Now, in terms of food variety, this restaurant has a focus on snacks and finger foods. These inlcude tempura, maki, and sushi variations which go well with drinks.
Food selection is still extensive and leaves clients with a lot of options to choose from. Aside from that, KOYO also offers a brunch menu package where customers can avail of an unlimited drink option for their beverage of choice.
One thing you need to prepare for though, aside from a reservation, is your budget. Prices can be a bit higher than usual here, with snacks and ala carte items ranging from AED 40 to AED 100 per order.
Overall, we think that KOYO is best for those who’d love to eat Japanese food in the late hours of the night. It’s also a great choice for those brunch lovers who would like to avail the restaurant’s offers and packages!
Pros
- Extensive menu items
- Spacious and beautiful interiors
- Offers brunch menu packages
- Has promotions and sales
Cons
- Prices can be a bit expensive
- Requires reservations
Customer Reviews:
Great Food and Drinks
“Had a great time at KOYO at Kabuki brunch! The food was really good, endless sushi and the mains were so fresh! Drinks flowed and they weren’t strict on us ordering at all! Sometimes we had 4 drinks each on the table! Only criticism is that the shows were a bit weak, the acts were good but it was very staggered and I would’ve liked to have seen more! Hence the 4 stars” -Beccy C, via Google Reviews
Good Price, Great Food Variety
“We have attended “samurai super club” event on Tuesday. For only 250 dirham per person we were able to get starters, main course, desserts and drinks, what a bargain!!! Delicious food was acompanied with a spectacular show. Also would like to point out great service from the staff, especially Ali 🤘 Must visit in Dubai 💯👍” – Anton Merezeko
2. Asian5
Criteria | Ratings |
Menu | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Price | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Location | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Customer Service | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Asian5 is a multi-cultural fusion of different cuisines from countries in Asia. This fast food restaurant offers street food options, common dishes, as well as salads and sweets for customers.
We like that Asian5 offers Thai, Chinese, Singaporean, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cuisines. This place is like a one-stop shop for a food trip around different countries in Asia.
We recommend going here for their house specials, like the beef in stir fry sauce that comes with rice and vegetables. Additionally, their pad thai, wok-fried noodles, and laksa are also one of the few dishes that customers keep coming back for!
Asian5 also has some vegan options. So you don’t have to worry about excluding yourself or a friend from eating here with their available menu items!
What sets this place apart from competitors is that people can come here for an all-you-can-eat package deal. The prices for this are AED 29 for kids and AED 65 for adults – and we think that these rates are quite generous.
One thing we do have to note about this place is that the area where clients can enjoy dining in is quite small. It will be difficult to grab a table especially during peak hours of lunch and dinner.
We recommend going an hour or two early before the lunch or dinner rush starts so you can get good seats.
The last thing we will note about this restaurant is its portions. According to the customers we’ve conversed with, Asian5 has big servings, which makes the clients believe that their money is definitely worth it.
Overall, if you’re looking for a restaurant that serves a wide range of dishes from different parts of Asia that have big serving portions, we recommend visiting Asian5!

3. Wox
Criteria | Ratings |
Menu | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Price | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Location | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Customer Service | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Wox is an Asian fine-dining restaurant located in the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel. Here’s the thing about this place: it looks and feels expensive.
Prices are still reasonable though, especially if you compare it to how other fine dining restaurants charge. Expect to spend at least AED 150 for 2 people in this place.
For its cuisine, Wox offers Chinese, Malaysian, and Vietnamese dishes. They have appetizers, soups, main courses, desserts, and drinks.
In terms of variety, we believe that it is not that spectacular. There are quite a lot of options to choose from, but the selections aren’t entirely unique.
One of the aspects that attract clients here is the interior design of the restaurant. Called “instragammable” by plenty of customers we’ve spoken to, Wox boasts a very luxurious, comfortable, and elegant interior.
If there’s something we’d complain about, it would be the space – the restaurant is honestly a bit small. Don’t expect a lot of room in between tables, as it will only be enough for people to walk past.
Lastly, another attractive aspect of this restaurant is its interactive kitchen. Guests can witness chefs whip up their orders right in front of their eyes which can provide much-needed entertainment.
In conclusion, we recommend booking a table in Wox if you’d like to experience an open kitchen as well as have a wide variety of Asian cuisines available to you in a fine dining environment.
Pros
- Aesthetically pleasing interior
- Good menu variety
- Has an interactive kitchen
- Offers alcoholic beverages
Cons
- Reservation required

Speaking of menu items, we like the vegan options offered here.. This means that vegans can still get a taste of their dishes without compromising their lifestyle.

Now, part of a good dining experience is the ambience of a restaurant and we think Oriental is quite comfortable. We like that there are wide spaces in between tables, and the seats are comfortable to sit on for long periods of time.

Good Ambience, Big Portions
“Ambience was nice. I enjoyed the food. The Thai mango pudding was very nice and was enough to feed 5 people. Quantity of food was good as well. Parking is usually available on the service road but might have to go down the road to find a spot.” -John Ravi
Quality Food, Good Service
“Landed up here on a Friday afternoon for lunch and loved every minute. The food was very tasty and the service excellent. We had the chili chicken and bao as starters and my kids who are fussy eaters absolutely loved it! Main course was garlic veg noodles which was spicy (loved it!) and egg fried rice which was perfect in it’s taste and texture with the cashew chicken gravy.. Ahmazing! Dessert was a selection in itself .. needless to say I will definitely be back.” -Lakshmy V, via Google Reviews
5. Toshi
Criteria | Ratings |
Menu | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Price | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Location | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Customer Service | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Are you in the mood for a buffet of Asian dishes? If so, we recommend this place to you.
Toshi is a hybrid restaurant that combines an all-you-can-eat buffet, an a la carte menu, and a bar in one location. Located in the Grand Millenium Hotel, this restaurant might be quite the climb since it’s on the 18th floor.
The restaurant primarily operates as a buffet. However, you can still order single-serving menu options during your reservation.
One thing that we like about this place are their buffet deals. Depending on the day of the week, Toshi offers different spreads of cuisines for their customers.
For example, they have an Asian seafood buffet during Saturdays and a sushi and sashimi spread on other days. Note that outside of their seafood spread, the other cuisines have no set day of appearing as an option.
If you’re targeting a specific buffet menu we recommend giving them a call to know the current theme available for the day you’ll be planning to reserve a table in.
In terms of price, we think that it’s quite fair compared to other buffets, though it’s still going to be quite heavy on your pocket. Expect to spend around AED 245 to AED 350 per head depending on whether or not you want free flowing drinks as well.
The establishment does offer discounts if you download their application during your stay, which is great. Sometimes, the restaurant occasionally offers promotions and discounts outside of that.
Overall, we recommend Toshi for their wide menu variety, as well as the option of opting for a buffer or a la carte!
Pros
- Offers a wide variety of cuisines
- Spacious interior
- Offers packages and deals
Cons
- Primarily functions as a buffet
- Reservation required
