I’ve always hated using alarms to wake up, and with my flexible work setup, I never really bothered. That is, until I stayed at a hotel near Burj Khalifa, planning to catch the sunrise—without setting an alarm. Spoiler: I missed the sunrise and breakfast

That’s when I decided, no more. Alarms are officially back in my life. Fortunately, many hotels in Downtown Dubai near Burj Khalifa offer a wakeup call service anyway—I just forgot. Here are the best accommodations I’ve been to near the iconic skyscraper.

If you want a fancy Arabian-style hotel, I think Palace Downtown is a sophisticated choice. Next to the Burj Khalifa Lake, this palatial hotel is also 3 km from The Dubai Mall and 7 km from the Dubai World Trade Centre.

I love that it showcases intricately carved woodwork and balconies with scenic views. Besides the typical amenities, the rooms have iPads too! If you’re going all out with the suites, the upgraded ones come with free airport transfers too.

Moreover, there are 5 posh dining spots, as well as a tea lounge and a cocktail bar. Other amenities include a spa, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool—whichever brings out your zen the most.

Set in a sleek high-rise building, Taj Dubai is a 5-star accommodation only 2 km from The Dubai Mall and the iconic Burj Khalifa.

Beyond offering views of the city or the Burj, the refined rooms have all the usual amenities. But what intrigues us? The designer toiletries. If you want some excitement, I suggest getting the club rooms for the lounge access, as well as butler service.

I also like the breakfast buffet being served in a glass-enclosed restaurant. Other dining options include a vibrant Indian spot, an art deco-style bar, and a rooftop lounge with plush sofas.

I like the amenities here as it comes with Bose sound systems which you can use for a fun game night. I say go for the suites since these add separate sitting areas, Burj Khalifa views, dining rooms, and/or butler services. 

Your palate will also be in for a treat—it’s got Peruvian and Mediterranean restaurants, a 24-hour cafe, and a poolside lounge with live music. This hotel also offers 2 bars, an outdoor pool, a hot tub, and a sauna for a relaxing night.

Rove Downtown has got you covered with both shopping and sightseeing needs. It’s a modern high-rise hotel 11 minutes from the Burj Khalifa skyscraper and 14 minutes from The Dubai Mall, among the most accessible hotels on my list!

The rooms have all the usual amenities, but I think the rainfall showers deserve a special mention for contributing to the relaxing factor. And if you upgrade your room, you can get pull-out sofas and majestic views of the Burj Khalifa.

There’s a hip international restaurant bar providing open-air dining on a terrace. Other amenities include an outdoor pool and a trendy lobby lounge. And if drinking red wine gets you stained, no worries! I appreciate the hotel’s 24/7 guest laundry facilities too.

The Dubai EDITION is an upmarket hotel that showcases great views of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. It’s also a 7-minute stroll from Dubai Mall, 8 km from Jumeirah Beach, and 13 km from Dubai International Airport.

But while the chic rooms provide all the necessities, note that you’ll need to upgrade your room to add balconies and Burj Khalifa views. If you want to cook, I love that the suites have kitchens too, as well as separate living rooms with sofa beds.

 I believe this hotel caters to most taste buds too! There’s a nice Italian restaurant, a Japanese spot, and a rooftop tapas bar.

Armani Hotel Dubai is a high-end hotel in an ornate, high-rise glass tower. It’s location seems pretty strategic too—it’s a 10-minute walk from the Dubai Mall, 5 km from the Dubai World Trade Centre, and 14 km from the Dubai Gold Souk traditional market.

If you need more space, I suggest upgrading your rooms to add living areas. We’re also in awe that the lavish suites feature dining areas, bars, studios, gyms, and views of Dubai Fountain or the Gulf. 

There are also 8 trendy eateries to choose from, including Italian and Japanese options. So whether you like fancy or casual, I believe you can dine here with ease.

Ramada

If you’re on a budget and would like to commute, Ramada is a 9-minute walk from Jumeirah Lakes Towers Metro Station 1 & 2. But if you’re all about the posh life, this upscale hotel is also 10.7 km from Palm Jumeirah.

The chic rooms come with free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and 24-hour room service. Many have balconies and fully equipped kitchens, but I recommend asking first. And something to keep in mind: kids 17 and under stay free with an adult!

It has a few eateries but it covers Mediterranean, Chinese, Japanese, and English cuisine, as well as a lounge and a pastry shop. There’s also an outdoor pool and a hot tub, as well as 4 meeting rooms and a business center. Airport shuttle is available too!

There’s also an airy bistro and two Asian restaurants, as well as a contemporary lounge and a retro food truck. Do note that the breakfast buffet requires a fee, though.

 I love the studios’ floor-to-ceiling windows for a well-lit stay. Some have balconies, and skyline or canal views too—be sure to book wisely! The 1- to 3-bedroom apartments offer separate living rooms too if you’re coming in hot with a bigger crew.

The amenities also include a chic restaurant and a juice bar. For me, it’s best to check these out online in advance since you have limited options.

In a high-rise across from a park, DAMAC Maison Distinction is 15 minutes away from the Dubai Fountain and 4 km from the observation deck at the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. It’s also handy for commuters—only 3 km from the Business Bay metro station!

 I adore the rooms with modern artwork, kitchenettes, balconies, and sitting areas with sofas. The 1- to 3-bedroom suites add separate living rooms too. Just note that some have free-standing baths (a bathtub with all four sides exposed) if you like those.
