These Fun Restaurants in Dubai Cheered Me up as a Single Foodie

I love food. Like, seriously obsessed. I think about food so much that I once dreamt of giant falafels falling from the sky! So even if I’m a single local, I never stop looking for new dining places because it’s one of my life’s greatest adventures.

The thing is, this makes me go out 15 to 30 times a month just to look for new spots! But as much as I relish trying new dishes, it can feel repetitive or dull if a restaurant offers only food and nothing else.

My friends often ask for my advice on choosing the most fun restaurants in Dubai, so I made a list for everyone’s convenience. Explore these thrilling dining options below with my insights and tips!

Where can you find fun Dubai restaurants?

You can find many fun restaurants in Dubai! Swing by vibrant spots like En Fuego, Carnival by Trèsind Restaurant & Bar, 3 Fils, BOCA, and Zenon to destress on a weekend or even right after work.

For me, no one says fun like circus fun! En Fuego is an exciting Latin American restaurant in Dubai with a circus-themed roof and vintage decor like neon signs, a retro car, piñatas, llamas, and a flamingo-shaped chandelier.

I also love the showstopping performances like fire, aerial hoop, and gravity-defying aerial acrobatics here! Plus, I think all the live entertainment would go well with the beef fajitas (marinated beef strips), brisket tacos, and churros with chocolate fudge.

Pro tip:
Bringing the little ones? Consider joining En Fuego’s Sunday Rodizio Carnival! It’s AED 195 per adult and AED 95 per child.
Some of its perks include getting a free drink and an AED 100 gaming card when you visit Wavehouse nearby. Win-win!

Carnival by Trèsind Restaurant & Bar is a vibrant spot that celebrates Indian cuisine. I love the tableside food theatrics, lively music, and creative drinks!

Food-wise, the highlights for me are the truffle pizza, avocado tacos, and the gajak dessert (brittle made from peanuts, sesame seeds, and jaggery).

But what got my attention the most was the Saturday brunch, where you can enjoy live performances, DJs, and free-flowing drinks. I think it would be tough for you not to dance or tap your foot along with the passionate performers going around!

Pro tip:
Carnival by Trèsind Restaurant & Bar’s starter portions can be pretty large, even for a family of 4. I recommend asking the staff about it or ordering mains first to see if you need more options.

3 Fils is a trendy harborfront restaurant in Dubai serving international (mainly Japanese) cuisine. What makes it fun for me is its community-style dining, which makes you have great conversations with people. I adore the relaxing marina views too!

I especially liked the triple-cooked fries, ramen with spicy beef chorizo, and dragon sushi. To balance it all out, I suggest getting the dark chocolate cake or Karak (strong, spiced tea) ice cream for dessert.

Pro tip:
There’s occasionally a waiting list at 3 Fils. That’s why I feel it’s smart to arrive earlier, or you might wait 30 minutes to be seated.

BOCA

BOCA is a modern Spanish restaurant and bar that offers global dishes with locally sourced ingredients. For us, this restaurant is a nice place for a happy hour sesh (4:30 pm to 7:30 pm) after a long day!

I say go for the calamari, lobster rolls, and seafood ceviche (citrus-marinated) to get you started. There’s also a wide selection of wines, so I bet you could easily switch flavors throughout different courses.

Pro tip:
If you’re going to BOCA, it’s best to valet park at the Gate Village entrance—the first 3 hours are free!

Zenon

  • Monday to Sunday – 12 PM to 3 AM

Pricing: AED 400 – 450 per person

Facebook

For me, Zenon is as fun as it’s unique! It’s a Dubai restaurant where you can step into a space with dancing holograms and moving digital art. These are all over the walls, so I reckon there’s an amazingly colorful vibe here to immerse in.

As for the grub, I find it fascinating that it draws inspiration from Greek mythology, as well as Mediterranean and Asian flavors. I liked the risotto with truffles and mushrooms, maki rolls, and Wagyu beef. Later, I say try the Aphrodite cheesecake for dessert too!

Pro tip:
Parking at Dubai Mall? Head to the ground floor and look for the Zara store. There’s an entrance to the Kempinski Hotel right there, so I think getting to Zenon would be a breeze!

Puerto 99

Want to cheer up a bit? I reckon Puerto 99’s interiors can easily put you in a good mood! It has tons of Mexican influences, with vibrant malachite crystals on the walls and floor. This has big speakers and flashing lights too, making it great for partying!

I also like the broad menu inspired by Latin America and South America. I suggest trying a variety of options to match the colorful vibe. The local red snapper fish, red rice, tortillas, and guacamole are some of my favorites.

Pro tip:
Is it someone’s birthday? Approach Puerto 99’s roving mariachi band beforehand—ask for a special happy birthday song performance to surprise your loved one!

Is that fancy dress or suit just sitting there in your closet? La Cantine du Faubourg is a French restaurant in Dubai that can give you a fun reason to dress up!

This lively place has several talented singers and DJs, and you can spend all night dancing until 3 am! Just don’t forget to order something, like classic beef tartare (raw), Angus ribeye steak, or calamari, to keep that energy up.

Pro tip:
When visiting La Cantine du Faubourg in the summer, try not to get too close to the windows or terrace since it can get really hot in those areas.

Josette is a fun French restaurant that’s a crowd-favorite for Instagram enthusiasts! It serves an elegant breakfast and brunch, while dinner comes with a show. I like the marshmallow-pink walls too—even guys like me can appreciate this aesthetic!

The standouts from the menu for me are the pasta and steak. Desserts like macarons and crème brûlée (burnt cream with custard) are my top picks too.

Each cocktail is inspired by Paris’ 20 districts, so I reckon trying them might feel like you’re on a city tour!

Pro tip:
Besides all the fun Moulin Rouge-like shows at Josette, it offers a separate business lunch menu. I think this is handy if you ever need to bring some serious work stuff here.

Bar du Port is among the most chic bars in Dubai, where you’re in for an exciting time.

In my opinion, there’s great hosting and DJing here that can amp up your dining experience—you’ll be dancing to its non-stop reggaeton and Arabic hits!

As for the grub, I say go for the grilled sea bass, burrata (Italian cow’s milk), and burger sliders. I like coming here for end-of-Ramadan feasts as well, so I say keep that in mind for future reference. Just make sure to follow this restaurant’s strict smart dress code.

Pro tip:
Check out Bar du Port’s dreamy terrace or grab a spot there—you’re likely to see some magnificent superyachts floating around!

Facebook

Babylon is among the best definitions of a fun restaurant in Dubai, in my opinion. For me, each dinner show is so immersive and memorable! Guests can learn a lot about the tales of Babylon in the most creative ways.

Plus, I like the East-West cuisine, especially the rock shrimp tempura, truffle pizza, and lobster linguine. There’s a wide array of cocktail options as well! I recommend the Inner Flame drink for a bit of a kick or the White Paradise for a creamy and citrusy flavor.

Pro tip:
Spots are pretty limited at Babylon, so I suggest making a reservation at the restaurant in advance. You can get free parking for an hour as well!
