Fun Activities in Dubai for Adults That Make Growing up a Flex
Not going to lie—growing up is hard. Besides the obvious reasons like dealing with responsibilities and whatnot, I sometimes get green with envy whenever I see younger folks having the time of their lives.
It’s not that I can’t still drink and party all night. Technically, I totally could. But honestly, I’m not sure I’ve got that kind of energy anymore.
But I was bored, so I rounded up my 30-something crew. I got all of us to plan what to do to let off steam. After a month, we figured these fun activities in Dubai for adults below are the best! See them for yourself!
What fun things can I enjoy in Dubai as an adult?
There are many fun things you can enjoy in Dubai as an adult. This includes smashing objects in a controlled room, swimming with sharks, driving a racecar, ziplining over the city, riding a gyrocopter, and fine dining in the sky.

If you’ve got a lot of pent-up stress (or anger) as an adult, The Smash Room provides a safe and healthy activity to let it all out. We’d say it’s all in good (destructive) fun!
Here, you can throw a bunch of stuff and “tear the house down” in a controlled room with a sledgehammer, shovel, or any tool you’ve picked. You’re basically paying to destroy plates, an old TV, a laptop, and other items the staff can provide.
Of course, you’ll be wearing the proper gear before getting started—no one wants you to get injured while having a good ‘ol smashing time.
Pro tips:
Closed shoes are required at The Smash Room—it’s best not to risk your toes!
And if the items you’ve smashed here don’t feel enough, we suggest buying extra “scrap” from the staff as an add-on.

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo provides a thrilling activity in Dubai for brave grown-ups—diving and swimming with sharks!
You’ll wear an oxygen-filled helmet and swim alongside 33,000 aquatic animals. And we kid you not, this includes 400 sharks, such as sand tiger, reef, leopard, and tawny nurse sharks—we bet it would be hard to miss them.
Just note that a maximum of 4 divers can go per slot, so we recommend maximizing this unique experience with family and friends.
Pro tip:
Why not take it one step further at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and ask the supervisors if you can feed the sharks too? Of course, be sure to follow their instructions carefully so you can come out of that safe and whole.

The Dubai Autodrome is a great spot if you’re either a race car enthusiast or just a really big fan of the animated movie Cars. You can brush up your skills, experience driving fast around the track, and live a little bit on the dangerous side.
We love that folks can fulfill their dreams here and get to drive a Formula 1 car. You can hit 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds to satisfy that adrenaline craving! For us, this can make you appreciate how amazing being a driving adult is.
But if you want, you can go for a Ferrari instead. There are also calmer options, like a BMW, or you can bring your own car too!
Pro tips:
Of course, with great (driving) power comes great responsibility. We advise checking out Dubai Autodrome’s requirements first to manage your expectations before going right in.
Hungry? There are several coffee shops inside when you need to refuel your own body. There are tuning garages for cars and bikes here too!

Want to see Dubai Marina in one magnificent sweep? Known as the world’s longest urban zipline, XLine Dubai offers a gripping experience for daredevils. This is especially for those willing to propel from a 170-meter-high launch platform at Amwaj Towers!
Not for the kids (nor the fainthearted), this activity speeds up to 80 km/h—for a cool reference, this is as fast as a lion can hunt prey! By the end of it, the zipline would have you soar a whole kilometer to Dubai Marina Mall.
Pro tip:
It’s best to arrive at least 30 minutes before your flight time at XLine Dubai. The booth can be challenging to find, so you’ll need time to ask the mall concierge and locate it. Plus, you’ll have to sign a long declaration form before anything else.

Those who feel like getting aerial tours from helicopters isn’t cutting it can hop on Skyhub’s gyrocopter instead! A gyrocopter is a 2-seat aircraft that provides a unique yet fun activity in Dubai for bored adults.
But don’t fret, because you don’t have to drive it. The experience comes with trusted pilots doing their job to enjoy a 20-minute flight at 1,500 feet.
You’ll swiftly fly along the Dubai Marina coastline. This lets you see iconic attractions like Ain Dubai (the world’s biggest Ferris wheel), Palm Jumeirah, the Atlantis Hotel, The World Islands, and the Burj Al Arab.
Pro tip:
Since you’re not allowed to carry any items or belongings on Skyhub’s gyrocopters, it’s smart to bring only a small bag. This way, you can use the free locker at the location with ease.

Love both cars and boats? How about a mix of both? Jet Car Dubai offers an exciting chance for grown folks to rent a sports car-shaped speedboat around Dubai’s spectacular waters! This is good for up to 3 passengers over 14 years old.
You may choose from a bunch of colors too! There’s an orange, blue, neon green, and red luxury jet car waiting for you!
Besides the thrill, you’ll also get to enjoy great views of the Burj Al Arab, the Dubai skyline, and Bluewaters Island. In our opinion, this is a fun, unique way of getting to know the city, especially for travelers.
Pro tips:
We suggest booking Jet Car Dubai 10 to 15 days in advance during peak season or 1 to 3 weeks ahead in the summer to get your preferred car.
Tourists aren’t allowed to snap pictures with their phones here. With this, note that the photo services with the staff cost extra. Be sure to chat with them beforehand to avoid pricey surprise charges later.

- AED 200 per person
What if we told you there’s an exclusive arcade for adults in Dubai? Triple 7 is an arcade bar that really plays into the guests’ nostalgia and brings them back to the ’80s and ‘90s. It’s a big plus for us that no kids are running around or crying in here too!
We love that it offers all the classics, such as Pacman, Street Fighter, NBA Jam, pinball machines, 8-bit video games, and virtual reality (VR) experiences! You may also play bowling and pool with your crew.
On top of that, we bet you’ll get hyped throughout because of the rainforest theme, funky music, and flashing lights that keep the vibe super energetic.
Pro tip:
After all the fun chaos, we recommend heading across to 7 Heaven (also by Triple 7), where you can enjoy signature cocktails as well as tasty bites like pizza, sushi, and nachos to fill you up.
Try Fine Dining in the Sky

Operating Hours:
- Monday to Sunday – 2 PM to 11 PM
Fees:
- AED 699
Are you afraid of heights? Dinner In The Sky is as literal as it gets because it’s a fine dining experience where you and your crew are on connected chairs suspended 50 meters high by a crane as you eat dinner.
You’ll also indulge in a lush 3-course meal and bask in beautiful locations like Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab. The highlights for us are the corn-fed chicken, burrata (Italian cow’s milk) salad, and the crowd-favorite chocolate sphere.
For sure, we think this can either be a breathtaking or nerve-wracking experience, depending on the person. If you’re among the latter and still want to proceed, perhaps you finally get over your fear through exposure therapy!
Pro tips:
Upon booking Dinner In The Sky, you’ll get to preselect your chosen dishes. But there are times when hiccups do happen, so it’s best to confirm with the staff before dining if there are any changes in the menu.
As one would expect, the dining experience can get pretty chilly, so don’t forget to bring a jacket!
Go on a Dinner Cruise

Contact Details: +971 4 208 7433, [email protected]
Fees:
- Around AED 130
If you don’t want to dine in the sky, maybe you’d prefer to do so on the water. The Dhow Dinner Cruise offers enthusiasts the most romantic date or the chillest hangout with friends.
With the cruise and dinner package, we love that guests will enjoy an international 5-star buffet with veggie and non-veggie meals. This also involves 90 minutes of cruising along Dubai Marina, Yacht Club, and Marina Towers.
As the sun goes down, we reckon you’ll appreciate the city more with all the twinkling lights around the boat and from the buildings. There’s going to be a Tanoura (an Egyptian folk dance) performance by a professional artist too!
Pro tip:
Not from Dubai? Take advantage of Dhow Dinner Cruise’s transport facilities for those living in other emirates like Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the like. Do note that this comes with an extra cost.
