We Think Burjuman Mall Is Old but Gold with Shopping Miracles
Some might think it’s lame, but my mom is my best friend. As an introvert, I prefer keeping my inner circle tight, and she’s always happy to be my shopping buddy. We also spend so much time together that I’ve gotten used to her being a tad forgetful.
Now and then, she mixes up our names, forgets her glasses, and can’t remember her passwords. I love her anyway. The funniest thing, though, is when she forgot her sister’s birthday. She was panicking, clutching her pearls, asking me for a last-minute gift idea.
But I had the day off, so I suggested going to BurJuman. It’s one of Dubai’s oldest malls, and I figured it would have the perfect solution. And it did—we found the classiest dress! We also had plenty of time to relax afterward, so here’s a travel guide from our trip.
What is BurJuman known for?
BurJuman is known for being among Dubai’s oldest shopping malls. It seamlessly combines luxury and family-friendly vibes with plenty of designer and mid-range brands, dining options, and other essential services.
Best Time to Go
The best time to go to BurJuman Mall is early morning or early afternoon to avoid other shoppers going to your favorite stores. This also looks ideal if you’re commuting to avoid (or at least survive) the rush hours.

How does a movie day (or night) sound? VOX Cinemas is a well-known destination for blockbuster enthusiasts in Dubai. It’s got 14 screens with 2D and 3D capabilities, as well as fully reclining armchairs for the coziest cinema experience.
Of course, the food and drinks are also the highlights. You can select between sweet and salty popcorn, chocolate treats, or something fancier. We recommend using the app to order in advance and have your food waiting for you when you arrive–-no hassle!
We also adore its “KIDS” experience—this is VOX’s unique cinema concept for the little ones and the parents. The family can sit in vibrant-colored seats while watching the latest animation, action, or adventure films!

Summer Pearl Spa is a massage center right behind BurJuman Mall. It’s where you can get luxury massages to relieve all your stress from the week. Some of the best options for us are the reflexology, hot stone, and deep tissue massage.
On top of that, you can use the VIP jacuzzi for a private, therapeutic bath! Otherwise, we suggest taking a Moroccan bath to cleanse and rejuvenate your skin if you have more time to spare.
And instead of walking in randomly, it’s smart to check out the spa’s website first. This lets you see the latest deals and discounts—some of them come in packages too!
Explore the Indoor Gardens

Should you want a quiet “me time” at the mall, we encourage you to wander around its indoor gardens! In this visual treat, you’ll find colorful flowers and butterflies all around.
The lush greenery also offers a sitting area. In our view, this makes it a lovely spot to rest for a while and catch up with your besties. This place is also close to cafes, so you can grab a cup of Joe before basking in the garden’s calming vibes.
And later, why not take this opportunity to take a bunch of cute Instagram photos or cool TikTok videos? There are several bright backdrops here waiting to be captured.

BBQ Express is a quick-service Filipino restaurant that we think is fantastic for savory lovers. It serves various grilled and barbecued dishes ideal for casual bites.
Right off the bat, we recommend the chicken inasal (grilled and marinated), chicken sisig (sizzling and minced), and bulalo (beef marrow soup). You can even have unlimited rice for an affordable price!
For a delightful surprise, we say try the halo-halo as well—it’s a mixed shaved ice dessert with tons of sweet toppings. This comes with ice cream, ube (purple yam), leche flan (caramel custard), beans, jelly, and the like.

If you’re not a coffee person, FiLLi Cafe offers a decent tea selection you might like! This cafe is known for its signature Zafran black tea (with saffron). Alternatively, you can get chai, ginger lemongrass, or Moroccan mint tea.
For us, these hot beverages go well with the fusion breakfast food too! We suggest going for an omelet, but there are lots to choose from—bread masala (spiced), desi egg bhurji (spiced, but without bread), or cheese and mushroom.
There aren’t many desserts here. But if you’re craving something sweet, we recommend getting a blended Zafran brew with whipped cream instead of the usual hot black tea.

BurJuman’s Nalan Restaurant looks great for vegetarians and diners looking for a light yet tasty meal. Apart from using fresh ingredients, we appreciate that this spot has a big menu so you never run out of options.
We like the veggie fried rice, Hakka (Chinese-style, stir-fried) noodles, and butter parotta (flaky flatbread). But just because you’re eating healthy, doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself. We say the gulab jamun (fried milk dumplings) is a must-try for dessert!
Note that this is a cash-only dining spot, though, so be sure to bring extra bills and coins just in case.

Perhaps the weather is cooler today? If so, Kyochon is a Korean dining spot that we think is suitable if you want to feel some heat in your meals.
Here, you can taste authentic Korean fried chicken—those typically featured in K-dramas and movies! You can also choose among different flavors, such as soy garlic, red pepper, and honey. Plus, we love that diners might get free chips or nachos!
And to counteract the spice, we suggest getting the bingsu for dessert! It’s a milk-based shaved ice dessert, and our favorite flavor is the chocolate sauce with brownie fudge.

Tips When Visiting BurJuman
Now that you’re in the know about this community mall, we suggest saving these handy tips to make your shopping day more fun:

- Visit the earliest you can. To avoid crowds or queueing a lot, it’s best to arrive at BurJuman ASAP—early morning or afternoon—especially on weekdays.
- Consider commuting via train. Don’t want the hassle of driving or parking? Save time and dirhams by using the metro! BurJuman is directly connected to the metro station, making it a very convenient stop.
