These Business Bay Restaurants in Dubai Had Us Extending Lunch

Doing food blogs alongside my day job means I get to hit up a bunch of restaurants (that’s the best part, alright). But it also means I have to sift through many places to find the real gems. That is, without losing my taste buds’ edge. Que horror!

More specifically, I can’t just sit down and devour everything on my plate. Usually, I take 1 to 2 bites, write in my notebook, and move on to the next dish. If you love food as much as I do, this is actually kind of a bummer.

But that’s before I got to eat at Business Bay restaurants in Dubai. Some of these are too good to be true—I had to extend my stay! I even roped in some foodie friends to help me make more balanced takes. Check out what we think below!

Where can I eat around Business Bay?

There are many restaurants where you can eat around Business Bay. Swing by spots like The MAINE Land Brasserie, Kitchen6, Kimuraya, ROKA, and The Blacksmith for a nice meal in the financial district.

The MAINE Land Brasserie is a New England-inspired restaurant at Business Bay known for its steaks, seafood, and cocktails. We also dig its cool and fancy ambiance—great for a romantic date!

For the main gig, we think you’ve got to try spicy shrimp linguine or seabass with broccolini. But don’t fret, there’s Japanese Wagyu for meat lovers too! As for the grand finale, we say dive into the sticky toffee pudding for the classic gooeyness.

  • Saturday to Sunday – 6 AM to 11 AM, 1 PM to 4 PM, 6:30 PM to 11 PM

Pricing: AED 150 – 200 per person

We reckon minimalists might love Kitchen6 for its spacious, well-lit atmosphere. Variety is king here as well! This hub provides Asian and European cuisine to cater to lots of preferences.

For us, the Middle Eastern mezze (appetizer) dishes like the spinach fatayer (meat pies) are ideal to share with friends. But if you want a little bit of everything, we definitely recommend the buffet!

We love picking out Chinese spring rolls, Indian curry, and British roast beef from the big selection. However, the spicy strawberry sushi takes the cake for us if you’re looking for something unique.

Kimuraya

Kimuraya is among the best dining spots in Business Bay to grab tasty, traditional Japanese food from an actual Japanese chef.

Besides the typical ramen and sushi, we like the Wagyu tonpeiyaki (omelet), takoyaki (deep-fried octopus balls), and grilled gyoza (dumplings). Don’t forget to pair your authentic meals with premium sakes (rice wine) too!

There are only a few desserts here, but we think you should try the matcha ice cream or the mochi ice cream platter—this one’s a lovely option for you and your date, we say.

The Blacksmith

The Blacksmith is an American bar and grill on the ground floor of the First Collection Hotel. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, it also plays live music in the evening for some good vibes!

As for the grub, the stars of the show for us are the buffalo wings and Australian ribeye steak. If you’re a beer (draft and bottled) or cocktail enthusiast, we bet you’ll find something to enjoy.

For your dessert pick, we feel you can’t go wrong with the burnt Basque (from Spain) cheesecake. But if you’re not a cheese (or cake) person, we bet you can’t go wrong with the good ‘ol berry and chocolate ice cream sundae.

ROKA

  • Sunday – 12 PM to 3:30 PM, 6 PM to 11 PM

Pricing: AED 150 – 200 per person

Facebook

Business Bay doesn’t seem to run out of Japanese restaurants. But if you want to focus on sushi and grilled dishes, we recommend giving the bright and scenic ROKA a try.

For the main affair, we’re drawn to the black cod marinated in yuzu (citrus) miso and skewered chicken wings. We think the latter tastes even better with the yuzu kosho (fermented chilis and citrus juice) honey!

Dessert-wise, we recommend letting the dark chocolate and matcha pudding take center stage. It’s made with crunchy Jivara (premium chocolate) and pear ice cream for extra texture. Plus, we love that this is gluten-free for conscious diners!

Love seeing fantastic views from above? Us too! Bella is an Italian restaurant on the 20th floor of the Grand Millennium hotel, where you can see a marvelous shot of the Burj Khalifa surrounded by the city lights. There’s a live DJ and singer too!

If you’re looking for something scrumptious, we find the truffle pizza, saffron risotto (rice dish), and orata puttanesca (pan-seared sea bream in a savory sauce) most promising.

The homemade tiramisu here is also a must for dessert lovers, in our opinion. Or, you can always go for a chocolate or vanilla gelato for a classic treat.

Mama’esh

Those craving authentic Palestinian dishes or street food may go to Mama’esh for a quick fix! We adore that this spot provides a laidback cafe vibe with outdoor seating.

Our favorites are the musakhan rolls (spiced chicken in flatbread), maqdous (pickled baby eggplants with walnuts), and the oven-baked halloumi (cheese). And if eating organic is important to you, note that this shop only works with organic flour.

If you’re a traveler, we especially recommend the cheese kunafa (sweet pasty rolls) for dessert. In our book, these local treats are a surefire way to become regulars here!

Vyne

Does your eating schedule have no set hours? Vyne could be perfect for you, as it’s an all-day dining venue at The First Collection hotel. It offers Mediterranean cuisine with all sorts of herbs and spices that we think keep people guessing.

For us, the Aussie grilled Tuscany ribeye steak is hands down the main course winner. To make it even better, we suggest partnering it with the roasted pumpkin soup and the za’atar (spiced blend) mashed potatoes.

Sweets, anyone? We say treat yourself to the mango mahalabia (milk with rose water) cake or the Khidri dates pudding for a unique dessert experience.

Long Teng

Craving Asian dishes? Long Teng offers Chinese cuisine with live seafood tanks inside—how authentic can it get?

For us, the roasted Peking duck is the way to go for your main meals. Vegetarians might also like the veggie turnip pastry—crispy on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. And speaking of soft, we believe the peanut mochi is a great sweet fix too!

Rang Mahal

  • Sunday to Friday – 6 PM to 12 AM
  • Saturday – 6:30 PM to 12 AM

Pricing: AED 245 per person

Facebook

Those who have a limited budget but would still like to try fine dining should visit Rang Mahal. Besides offering amazing views of Business Bay and sleek interiors with black onyx walls, we like that it serves big portions of Indian cuisine.

While we’re hooked on the jumbo prawns and curries, our top pick is still the classic chicken tikka masala (butter chicken with tomato fondue). We also find the dal makhana (creamy lentil dish) a wonderful side dish.

To even out the flavors, you can end on a high note with the rose bhapa doi (steamed sweetened yogurt) or the mild chocolate chaklet (bite-sized chocolate with milk powder and sugar). But if you’re not into all that, we suggest getting the mocktails instead!

Food Souk

  • Monday to Sunday – 7:30 AM to 10 PM

Pricing: AED 90 per person

Facebook

Can’t decide what to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Business Bay? That’s not a problem for Food Souk—it offers an international buffet for all 3 meals!

For a killer dish, we believe you should go with the dynamite shrimps—start your day with a kick! But if you want something hearty, we say go for the chicken katsu (breaded, deep-fried cutlets) sandwich and grilled lamb chops.

Don’t miss out on the baked strawberry cheesecake for a creamy and tangy flavor combo too! Otherwise, we say go for the fresh fruit salad—something guilt-free after a heavy meal.

Couqley

Website: https://couqley.ae/

Address: Pullman Dubai Downtown – Marasi Dr

Contact Details: +971 4 514 9339, [email protected]

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 6 AM to 10:30 AM, 12 PM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 200 – 250 per person

Facebook

Couqley is a maximalist (yes, you heard that right) French-inspired restaurant that we believe is truly eye-catching with its big plants and golden rooster decor.

Main dish MVP? We believe there are a couple of options to explore, such as the famous steak frites (fries), beef tartare (raw), and moules (mussels).

We also suggest wrapping up your meal with a classic apple tart—both crumbly and buttery! But for the youngsters, we think they might like the gooey cookie skillet more.
