A Travel Guide to Palm West Beach

A Travel Guide to Palm West Beach

Dubai has one of the best coastlines in the Middle East. So, it’s no surprise that thousands of tourists flock to the city every year just to experience its world-class beaches.

And if you’re one who loves a good beach day in a place where you can relax, dine and have a good time, you should check out Palm West Beach.

Let this guide help you plan your trip to one of Dubai’s best beaches.

What is Palm West Beach?

Palm West Beach is a lifestyle beach destination located on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.

The 1.5-kilometer beach stretch is filled with restaurants, hotels and beach clubs that offer a myriad of activities from day to night.

Palm West Beach also has a promenade for strolling, a walking and running trail for fitness enthusiasts and several businesses that offer water and outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.

Best Time to Go

Palm West Beach is best enjoyed during the winter months in Dubai that run from December to March.

Since the sun is not as hot, you can stay outdoors for a longer time to enjoy everything that the beach has to offer.

January and February are especially ideal with temperatures ranging from 19 to 21 degrees Celsius.

But since winter is also the peak season for beach goers in Dubai, it’s best to go early, so you can find the right spot before the beach gets too crowded.

Things to Know

Before heading to Palm West Beach, here are some things that will help you make the most of your trip:

  • Operating hours

Palm West Beach is open to the public daily from 8:00 AM until midnight. But these timings may change during special holidays or during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

  • Parking

Palm West Beach offers covered and underground parking options for guests. You get free parking for the first three hours, AED 20 for the first extra hour and AED 10 for every hour after.

But if you’re dining at a restaurant on the beach, you can enjoy three additional parking hours for free if you spend at least AED 200.

Just have your parking ticket validated with the restaurant to take advantage of this freebie.

How to Get Around

Trains: Since Palm West Beach is located on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, it’s only accessible through the Palm Monorail. But you can take the Red Line of the Dubai Metro and stop at the Al Khail Station where you can ride the Monorail and stop at the Al Ittihad Park where the beach is just a few minutes walk away.

Buses: There are no direct bus lines to Palm West Beach, but you can take a bus going to Palm Gateway where you can board the Monorail going to the beach. Bus Lines 8, 83, 84 and F55A all stop at Palm Gateway.

Taxis: If you don’t want to transfer transportations constantly, you can easily book a taxi ride through Uber or Careem to take you directly to Palm West Beach.

Car service: If you prefer a self-drive car or chauffeured car service, you can have that transportation arranged with your hotel or travel agent.
