We Think These Bars in Business Bay Are Worth the Hangover

Alright, let’s just say for the record that I don’t have a drinking problem—hope that’s convincing. But when things get too happy or sappy, I do get a craving for some great beer, chips, sports, views, and company. Is that too much to ask?

Well, if you ask me, it really isn’t. There are plenty of amazing bars in Business Bay to check out. The problem is, I get too tipsy (or, okay, drunk) to remember them all.

So before I reach out for that drink, I make sure to add the spot to my handy list every time. Check out this handy pub guide below!

There are a bunch of great bars in Business Bay, Dubai. Swing by vibrant pubs, like Lock, Stock & Barrel, Bay Club, Funny Cat Sports Bar & Lounge, Republic Adda Bar & Lounge, and Basta! for a fun, tipsy night out!

Who says live music and comfort food can’t go hand in hand? Lock, Stock & Barrel is a bar in Business Bay that offers both, so you won’t starve dancing the night away. From its international menu, we recommend the nachos and Gangnam-style wings.

While munching on these treats, we think you’ll enjoy the hip aesthetics of the pub with exposed bricks, as well as industrial materials and cargo containers on the walls—time to snap some quirky pics!

Of course, we believe the night wouldn’t be complete without the tasty Belgian beer. You may also go for the red wine or the Fuzzy Navel cocktail (peach schnapps) if that’s your thing. When it’s time to sober up, we appreciate the coffee options here too!

Bay Club provides guests with a relaxing vibe and healthy refreshments. We think its rooftop bar also looks pretty peaceful, with a covered area and tables by the swimming pool. We say enjoy that cool breeze with chill house music or swim with a day pass!

Just note that the happy hour lasts until 7 pm. You’ll also enjoy quintessential bar food with sharing boards and cold cuts. Go get some of those hot bites while you sip on wine or a refreshing cocktail!

Funny Cat Sports Bar & Lounge is a signature pub at Ramee Dream Hotel. Its playful cat-themed decor makes it a tad more whimsical and livelier than regular bars, in our opinion.

It offers various drinks and finger foods, such as the Funny Cat burger, BBQ chicken wings, and fries. On top of that, we like the big screens for the sports streams and the arcade corner for billiards and gaming enthusiasts—time to get competitive with pals!

Republic Adda Bar & Lounge

Now, what about a fusion bar in Business Bay? Republic Adda Bar & Lounge provides modern Indian cuisine with street food dishes and a colorful culture. We believe the bar shines with geometric decor and pop art, as well as Desi music from the live DJ!

There are tons of draft hops (beer), malt drinks, and creative beverages here, but we suggest going for mocktails like Indian Purple Berry or cocktails like Pink Senorita first. Want to make your own? We also love the DIY gin counter!

For us, this would also go well with the bun maska (buttered bread) and puchka or pani puri (crispy, hollow flatbread with tangy filling).

Basta! is the Business Bay bar for Italians and Italian culture enthusiasts. Apart from the pleasant ambiance with candle-lit tables and soft music, we love watching the live cooking here—a great show for foodies!

Billionaire Dubai is among our favorite bars because, besides dinner, you’ll also get to see an amazing show! Think singers, dancers, acrobats, and cabarets.

We’re also in awe of the velvet rope entrance and the posh interiors, which can make you feel like a celebrity!

Plus, we find the fine dining mega luxurious, with Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine. We love the salt-crust baked wild sea bass, Wagyu beef filet, and truffle pizza. You could also try the caviar selection if you’re feeling extra fancy.

Want a bright setting with vibrant decor and dishes? Bombay Brasserie is the bar to explore. We like its unique decor with colorful artworks in a pleasant environment. It’s also amazing for us that this spot offers panoramic views of Burj Khalifa!

As for the grub, our go-to’s are the spiced Cochin lobster curry (it’s mild, don’t worry!), dal makhani (slow-cooked black lentils), and chicken tukra chaat (spicy and tangy chicken salad). If you want a sample of everything, we suggest going for the set menus.

Those looking for a Business Bay bar with exclusive vibes should try out Flashback Speakeasy Bar & Lounge. It’s a speakeasy pub with a chic vintage Hollywood style, like being in the 1920s!

We dig the classy interiors, dimly lit tables, and comfy Chesterfield sofas. You can also enjoy the jazz shows featuring chill music that really sets the tone here.

To make the experience even better, we recommend munching on the Wagyu beef slider, crispy tiger prawn, and short ribs. And for the liquid desserts, we say give the sugar cookie Martini a go!

Got a craving for seafood at a restaurant bar? At Long Teng, we reckon you’ll get more than just fresh Chinese seafood specials—you’ll also see a beautiful in-restaurant aquarium! Check out some live lobsters, crabs, and king prawns before you order.

The lush interiors also wow us, with a sleek and stylish traditional Chinese setting. We also like the roomy lounge area where you can indulge in a nice, warm pot of Chinese tea. We recommend the pan-fried radish cake and steamed dim sum (dumplings) too!

Ever seen a tuk tuk (3-wheeler vehicle in Thailand)? Well, the restaurant bar Miss Tess showcases a colorful one as its main attraction. This represents its Thai food offerings, though it also serves Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisine.

We love the playful and bold street-food-inspired interiors. The colorful chandeliers, eclectic lanterns, cool wall paintings, and sleek window shades also round out the dining experience, in our opinion.

For us, you shouldn’t skip the pad Thai noodles, chicken thigh skewers, and dynamite shrimp, either. Don’t forget to wash it all down with wine, beer, or any of the creative cocktails too!

ROKA is one of the Japanese restaurant bars in Business Bay that gives off both cool and laid-back club vibes. The subtle lighting and greenery around the interiors and exteriors make it look classy for us as well.

We suggest starting with some sushi and iceberg salad, but don’t miss out on the fantastic robata grill dishes too—these are skewered chicken wings with honey. We think they hit the spot with sweet and salty!

Now, for the drinks, we suggest going for the Sakura Sawa drink. It has gin and cherry blossom flavor, which really showcases the authenticity of the bar, in our opinion.

The Eloquent Elephant

Operating Hours:

  • Friday and Saturday – 12 PM to 2 AM
  • Sunday to Thursday – 12 PM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 220 per person

Sometimes, you just want to steer away from unnecessary pub flair. The Eloquent Elephant is a rustic (but still classy) option in Business Bay to grab your bar favorites. It’s also got a large screen for sports fanatics!

Some of the pub grub we like are the pies with mash and gravy, nachos with pulled beef, and Jamaican jerk chicken. We also think you can’t go wrong with the IPA beer or some spirits like whisky or light rum.
