We couldn’t have just one stop at the City Centre Mirdif mall!
One thing about me is I’m typically disciplined and focused. That’s why my best trait is also my worst: I never stop working. But then, my headset finally gave up. And since I talk to clients a lot, this was a disaster! This also meant I had to drag myself to the mall.
But as I was leaving, my little sisters realized where I was going and begged to tag along. I didn’t want to, but they were sooo cute that I could only sigh and stop arguing. I was only supposed to buy new headsets and go, but it quickly turned into a crazy day.
City Centre Mirdif has many shops and play areas, and my sibs were too excited to see them all. I had work waiting, but I realized I’d be unable to do this again soon, so I turned it into a siblings’ day! Here’s a handy travel guide I made from our mall crawl.
What is City Centre Mirdif known for?
City Centre Mirdif is known for being a vibrant shopping mall in Dubai with more than 400 stores! It provides a good mix of high-end fashion stores, fancy dining options, and entertainment spots for all types of visitors.
Best Time to Go
The best time to go to City Centre Mirdif is winter from November to March, when it’s cooler and more pleasant so shop and sightsee. It’s also best to go during weekdays, especially in the morning or early afternoon to avoid crowds.
Things to Know
How to Get Around
- Trains: City Centre Mirdif isn’t directly connected to the Dubai Metro, but the nearest Metro station is Rashidiya Metro Station on the Red Line. From here, you can take a taxi or the bus. The metro station is about a 10 to 15-minute drive from the mall, making it handy for those from other parts of Dubai.
- Buses: The mall has a designated bus stop served by RTA buses, so we say look for bus lines 367 and F10. Note that the nearest stops are Mirdif City Centre – 1, Mirdiff City Centre – 2, Mirdif Area, Street 18b, and Mirdiff Area, Street 15.
- Taxis: Want the most convenient transport option? We say opt for a cab through ride-sharing apps like Uber and Careem, which you can find almost anywhere in Dubai.
- Car: Driving? You can go to the mall directly from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311)! City Centre Mirdif can be reached via 2 other major roads too, such as Airport Road (D89) and Tripoli Street (D83).

What better way to start your mall day than to watch a movie? The VOX Cinemas is one of the most established cinemas in the UAE, and we think it’s one-upping itself every time.
For one, it has introduced IMAX Sapphire with larger-than-life curved screens and brought back “THEATRE by Rhodes” with private lounges and gourmet food. These cater to those who want a fancier and more memorable viewing experience.

City Centre Mirdif is for the whole family, and Magic Planet is among the biggest reasons why. This entertainment centre offers various games, indoor rides, simulators, skill games, and attractions we reckon you’ll enjoy.
But what we love most is its massive selection of video and arcade games! Adults and kids can bond by playing nostalgic classics or high-definition new releases. As we see it, you’ll need a couple of hours to make the most of your time here.
To make your playday more fulfilling, we also suggest registering for a Magic Planet card to reward you with every victory. You can collect e-tickets from the redemption games and swap them for fun prizes (and extra bragging rights).

Need some (or a lot) of time for yourself? Little Explorers is an “edutainment” (education and entertainment) concept where you can take kids ages 2 to 7. It’s a place that combines fun, safety, and learning as the kiddos explore and play.
It provides 5 adorable spots—air, water, play, coloring, and space zone. We love that they involve mazes, interactive nature exhibits, coloring a wall, and more to keep the kids happy and learning.
And if your child is interested in doing more, we recommend letting them join the creative workshops. Some examples are gardening, as well as arts and crafts. These are updated monthly too, so we bet there will always be something new to try!

Do you wish you could eat breakfast food all day? Brunch & Cake is a Barcelona-born dining restaurant in City Centre Mirdf where you can feast on morning treats almost anytime!
We recommend the chicken schnitzel (fried chicken breast), breakfast pizza, and pulled beef benny (English muffins with smoked beef brisket). But if you’d like something sweet early on, we suggest getting the cinnamon rose roll or the milk cakes too.
Plus, this dining spot is known for its generous portions, so we say stop by here if you have a big appetite or need to refuel after a long day.

Only want a quick, casual bite? Falla Restaurant provides burgers and pasta with a unique twist on American and Italian classics!
The highlight for us is the Falla Classic burger with a double smashed beef patty—great for keeping folks full and energized. But if you’re all about vegetables, we believe you won’t miss out on the fun with the veggie crunch burger or the pasta veggie.
The desserts look pretty unique too, but our recommendation would be to go for the Mount Fallava or Mississippi mud cake—we think it looks like a tasty science project!

There are plenty of options from colorful pens and bags, flowery phone cases, and work mugs to fake plants and home decor. Just keep in mind that this shop can get pretty crowded, especially during peak hours or right before school starts.

Geekay is a video game store where you can find many action figures and accessories for PS5 and PS4, as well as controllers, headsets, monitors, gaming chairs, and so on. A good place to get gifts for the gamers in the family, we say.
And don’t worry if you know little about PC (personal computer) specifications and other tech-savvy terms—you’ll be assisted by the pros, anyway.

We think those who want to get away from gadgets for a while must visit Borders! It’s a tiny bookstore that also sells school and office supplies.
While this branch is smaller than others, we think it still offers a decent selection of books, stationery, art supplies, school bags, and accessories.
Moreover, we appreciate its dedicated space where you can sit and read the books that piqued your interest! You’ll also see other families or kids enjoying their literary finds, so we suggest bringing earphones or earplugs so you won’t be easily disturbed.

Of course, we believe your shopping retreat wouldn’t be complete without going to the hypermarket. Carrefour is a well-stocked grocery store with fresh ingredients and home goods. It’s great for us that this typically offers special deals too!
We also find it amazing that you can explore a bunch of ingredients from various influences, like Indian, Western, Arabic, or Filipino. You can also stock up on everyday wear, camping materials, or school supplies when needed.
Other than that, we appreciate the self-checkout option! For us, this can save time for shoppers with other activities to enjoy or errands to run.

In our book, the rooms are good for a family of 4 since they’re pretty casual with all the basic amenities, like flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi, kettles, and mini-fridges. We also feel the kids might love the colorful dining spot, as the adults might enjoy the chill cafe and bar.

While most rooms are on the modern, minimalist side, we love that the upgraded rooms add fantastic marina views. If you’ve got the means, we suggest going all out on the suites with free breakfast or upgraded ones with kitchenettes.

Tips When Visiting City Centre Mirdif
Now that you know all about City Centre Mirdif, check out these handy tips to make your mall crawl more productive and convenient:
- Check for deals in advance. We recommend downloading the mall app to get real-time updates on promos, events, and stores. For us, everything’s better with a great itinerary!
- Plan your parking. The mall can get pretty busy (especially on weekends), so it’s smart to arrive early in the day or consider using valet services to save more time.
- Use your hotel’s free shuttle. Staying in a hotel nearby? Some accommodations offer a complimentary shuttle service to the mall for a hassle-free experience.
- Bring the kids to the play zone. If you’re taking children in tow, we think the play area is a great spot for them to have fun while you do the same with your “me time” or retail therapy.
- Chill in the community area. Is shopping getting overwhelming? Take casual breaks at the community area—sit, relax, and find your zen before exploring a new boutique or a fun adventure!
