Guide to Al Mamzar Beach in Dubai

I Cracked the Code for a Perfect Day at Al Mamzar Beach in Dubai

Confession time: I used to be a beach hater. Like, I was never really a big fan of the sunburn and sandy invasions I’d get in every nook and cranny. But guess who’s trading in their beach phobia for a plunge into Al Mamzar Beach? Spoiler alert: It’s me.

I may not have been a sandy shore aficionado, but this Dubai spot got me hooked. As I scoured the city for top vacation spots, I realized making an in-depth travel guide makes me super prepared and have an open mind—no surprises, just pure beach bliss.

So why not kick your beach biases to the curb and gear up for a splash too? From lazy lounging to thrilling water antics, experience the ultimate beach adventure in Al Mamzar as you dive into my notes below!

What is Al Mamzar Beach Park known for?

Best Time to Go

The best time to go to Al Mamzar Beach is from November to December. It’s open daily from 8 am, shutting down at 10 pm on Sunday to Wednesday, and 11 pm the rest of the week and on holidays. So plan your beach day accordingly!

Things to Know

Fees: AED 5 per person and AED 30 per car. But it’s all free for folks with determination and kids under 2. Head west of Al Mamzar Beach Park, and you’ll hit the beachfront, complete with a little playground, all on the house.
BBQ: With 28 designated spots for grilling, I recommend sticking to those if you’re planning to fire up the grill.
Dogs: Your dogs got to sit this one out. No pets are allowed here. If you want to take your dog outside, check out my list of dog parks in Dubai.
Alcohol: Sorry to be a buzzkill, but booze is also a no-go in public parks in Dubai.

How to Get Around

  • Trains: Hop off at Al Qiyadah on the Green Metro Line—it’s the closest stop to Mamzar Park. From there, you can grab a cab or take a leisurely 6 km stroll.
  • Buses: The C28, C12, and C10 bus routes will drop you off right by Al Mamzar Beach Park. Check out the RTA bus schedules to plan your journey.
  • Taxis: Taxis are a dime a dozen in Dubai, so getting to the park is a breeze. You may use apps like RTA Dubai, Careem, or Uber to book a cab or flag one down on the street.
  • Car: Driving is no sweat here. Al Mamzar Beach Park has ample free parking. Just cruise via Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road or Emirates Road, near the Dubai-Sharjah border.

What to Do in Al Mamzar Beach

Plan a Hearty Picnic

Al Mamzar Beach Park is just delightful for a laid-back picnic day. Spread out your mat, open your basket of goodies, and bask in the breathtaking scenery all around you.

No need to stress about snacks—the park’s dotted with kiosks offering a tempting array of refreshments, from cold drinks to mouthwatering ice creams.

And if you’re hankering for something more substantial, I love that there’s a cozy cafe near the entrance serving juicy burgers and crispy fries. For me, it’s the perfect recipe for a great day out with family or friends, surrounded by sun, sea, and good eats.

Fire up the Grill

Holding a sizzling BBQ extravaganza at the beach is another popular pastime here. With 28 barbecue spots conveniently located near the beach, I think you can unleash your inner grill master and cook up a feast fit for royalty.

From succulent steaks to juicy kebabs, the possibilities are endless! And with the salty sea breeze as your backdrop, I reckon every bite tastes even better.

Get Your Game On

Al Mamzar Beach is your playground, offering a plethora of exciting activities for all ages. You can even shoot some hoops at the basketball court, where you can channel your inner Michael Jordan and score some slam dunks!

Not a ball shooter? I suggest lacing up your cleats and hitting the soccer field to showcase your fancy footwork and bend it like Beckham. But if roller skating is more your speed, you could always glide around the rink like a pro (or play pretend, it’s fine).

Make a Splash Playing Water Sports

Looking to get your fix on thrills and spills? Whether you’re into jet-skiing, snorkeling, or simply splashing around in the swimming pools, I think there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this beach park.

For one, you can take a dip in one of the park’s (not 1, not 2, but 3!) sparkling pools. This looks perfect for cooling off on a hot day or practicing your backstroke with the family.

Otherwise, gear up for an adrenaline-pumping jet-ski ride and feel the rush of the wind in your hair as you zip across the waves. Because if not now, when, right?

Pedal Your Way along the Scenic Surroundings

For many, Al Mamzar Beach Park is best explored on two wheels with a leisurely bike ride through its scenic surroundings. You can go on a discovery journey, pedaling past towering towers, charming bungalows, and inviting snack houses—what a thrill!

Personally, I love feeling the breeze on my face as I cruise along the park’s pathways, taking in the sights and sounds of nature all around me. I think it’s totally therapeutic.

And with plenty of shady spots to rest and recharge, it’s a lovely way to spend a sunny day outdoors. Sometimes, people forget the simple pleasures of cycling and just soaking up the beauty of their surroundings.

Can’t end the day without chocolates? La Bamba Restaurant is a sweets restaurant with a charming ambiance and tasty Mediterranean fare, just a quick 20-minute drive from the beach.

I say get something savory first, so you’ll better appreciate the sweets later. I adore the freshly prepared seafood paella (rice dish) and sizzling grilled lamb chop. But I heard many regulars loved the garlic shrimp too!

Then, of course, I think the chocolate fondant is a heavenly indulgence. In my opinion, it complements the restaurant’s coastal vibes because it’s rich and decadent, echoing the luxurious feel of a seaside escape.

Also, why not take advantage of the unlimited pizza and pasta nights? The way I see it, it’s how you can satisfy cravings to your heart’s content while having a true taste of Italy.
