I Got My Linen Tote Full After Shopping at the Best Farmer’s Markets in Dubai

Admit it, you love watching those videos of women bringing their linen totes and shopping at their local farmer’s market – oh, I am guilty of that!

So I figured, why not be my own Martha Stewart and buy fresh produce – and a few other little trinkets – in a real farmer’s market in Dubai?

Gladly, there are several spots around the city to do just that and of course, I’m sharing my favorites with you. Don’t forget to bring your linen tote, okay?

From the name itself, it’s obvious that this is the go-to farmer’s market when you’re in Dubai, especially if you’re on the hunt for some fresh organic produce.

But The Farmers’ Market isn’t your typical weekend market since it’s located in one of the most artsy districts of the city – Alserkal Avenue.

Every Saturday, local farmers, sellers and artisans gather at Alserkal Avenue’s Main Lane to sell fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade food products, baked goods and other things for locals to enjoy.

Oh, I love walking into the market and seeing all these vendors selling my favorites! It feels like being in a candy store for adults, to be honest.

What’s great about The Farmers’ Market is the variety of products that you can find here. There’s all the fresh fruits and vegetables from organic farms around the UAE for starters.

You also get different dairy products, traditional Emirati snacks, the most delicious sourdough bread in my opinion and even raw honey! Ah, I love everything in this market.

And if you ever get hungry looking at all that produce, you don’t need to wait to get home to enjoy good food since there are vendors selling plant-based and healthy food in the market.

Located at the Police Academy Park, this weekend market is the perfect place to go shopping, get some fresh air and just enjoy the vibe of this community.

Ripe Market is known for vendors selling some of the best produce that you can find in Dubai. So, if you’re a fan of fruits and vegetables like me, you’ll love shopping here.

The market also hosts several vendors selling handcrafted products and trinkets that will surely find a place in your home.

I love looking at all the decor and accessories that these vendors sell and yes, I resist the urge to buy a lot every time I’m in the market.

But what really makes Ripe Market extra special is that it’s not only a place for shopping but also a great spot to enjoy the weekend with the family.

Whenever I need to stock up on seafood, I always go to Jumeirah Fish Market not only for their pocket-friendly prices but also their fresh offerings.

If your idea of a farmer’s market in Dubai involves shopping for handmade goods, accessories, clothes and everything in between, then you should head to ARTE, The Makers’ Market.

And why not? This is the largest market in the UAE for arts and crafts and fashion items with more than 150 designers, artisans and vendors selling their products!

The market has been in existence since 2005 making it a go-to spot for locals looking to find local products to take home. Tourists also love the different trinkets that they can find here.

For me, ARTE is a treasure trove of good quality pieces that you’d spend a fortune for at the mall, so it has been my favorite place to buy clothes, jewelry, skincare products and home decor.

The Waterfront Market

Address: Dubai Enrichment Project – Al Khaleej Street – Deira

Operating hours:

  • 24 hours daily

Price: $$

There are many reasons the Waterfront Market is considered one of the best farmer’s markets in Dubai.

For one, it’s located right on the waterfront – thus the name – on the old part of Dubai where you can get a glimpse of how life was when this city was just a simple fishing village.

The market also holds more than 150 vendors selling everything from fruits, vegetables and local goods from around the UAE.

But the real highlight of the Waterfront Market is its massive fish and seafood area where you can buy from more than 500 vendors selling 350 different types of fish and seafood from in and outside the UAE.

They even have a special cutting and cleaning area where you can have all your seafood cleaned, gutted and prepped, so you don’t need to do it yourself back home. How cool is that?

Of course, Waterfront Market also has a dedicated space for meat and poultry with more than 80 butchers selling all types of meats that you can think of.

And you can’t be in Dubai without some spices. Here, you can find more than 60 local artisans selling different types of spices and dry goods for you to use back home.

Waterfront Market surely has everything you need in one place, which is why it’s one of my favorite places to shop for fresh produce.
