These Dubai Al Barsha Restaurants Made Our Lunch Breaks Epic

No matter how focused I can be, I always find myself zoning out. Like that one time, I stared off into space on the Metro and accidentally ended up traveling from Dubai Marina to Dubai Creek, about 30 km away! So yeah, I definitely need to work on that.

Recently, my colleagues and I were in Al Barsha for a month-long work gig, and then lunchtime hit. I realized I needed something to keep me both full and absorbed—someplace fun, worth bragging about, or at least cool enough to write about!

This urged me to drive around and explore lots of Al Barsha restaurants in Dubai. After a few weeks, I even got my pals to tag along and try them all! So far, we’ve made a top-tier list below if you want to know which ones are the most interesting.

Where can I eat in Al Barsha?

There are plenty of places where you can eat in Al Barsha, Dubai. Notable ones to satisfy your cravings are Texas De Brazil, Al Fanar, Swiss Butter, Mogiya, and Al Mashawi Al Halabya.

Texas De Brazil is an Al Barsha restaurant in Dubai that serves upscale Brazilian cuisine with all-you-can-eat meat. Although, we believe this spot is mostly known for its churrascarias or “steakhouse grill.”

The servers bring big meat skewers that we think are as tasty as they’re appetizing! Besides the grilled meat, we recommend going for the lamb chops, ribs, and seafood.

Of course, you should save some room for our top dessert picks—the rich and creamy chocolate mousse cake or the warm and crispy fried banana!

Al Fanar

If you’re a traveler wanting to get your hands on classic Emirati dishes, we think Al Fanar is a must-try in Al Barsha. It’s a family-run restaurant that we reckon can give you that warm, cozy feeling. Plus, we adore that it’s got that nice view of the pond!

As for the grub, this place is packed with an amazing love for seafood! We dig the sea bream, garlic butter shrimp, and fish machboos (spiced seafood rice). Also, we say those who want a bit of everything should go for the mixed seafood BBQ!

And to make things sweet and balanced, we feel indulging in dates pudding is the best way to end your meal. If you want something sweeter, we like the chocolate dates cake too!

Swiss Butter

From its name, Swiss Butter is among our favorite Al Barsha restaurants with the juiciest steaks! We also find it intriguing that its secret sauce is made with butter (well, duh!) and a whopping 33 herbs and spices—good luck recreating that!

We think this place serves amazing butter chicken and ribeye too. We say you’ll likely have a filling dining experience too, as the mains are served with a mesclun (mixed greens) salad, baguette, chili flakes, and fries or baked potato.

Moreover, the sugar rush here seems worth it with the molten chocolate cake. For us, this pairs well with the piña colada or house wines like rosé.

Mogiya

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 12 PM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 85 per person

Craving for authentic sushi? Mogiya prides itself on being a traditional Japanese restaurant in Al Barsha. We believe you can easily customize your dining experience here since both set and a la carte menu options are available.

To have a great main course, we say go for the teriyaki, tempura, or udon noodles as well. And the way we see it, you can finish strong with the matcha or sesame ice cream—totally worth it!

Al Mashawi Al Halabya

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 3 PM

Pricing: AED 95 per person

Those who believe that variety is king might love the Syrian restaurant Al Mashawi Al Halabya. For one, it offers Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisines—lots of flavors, colors, and fragrances to enjoy here, we say!

Apart from the pumpkin soup, chicken shawarma, and kebabs, we think you should also dig into the tabbouleh (Levantine herb and bulgur or cracked wheat salad) and gyros (Greek meat wrap)—very hearty with veggies.

You can also get your sugar fix from the baklava (layered pastry) or coffee ice cream—a nice and sweet balance to all the strong flavors or acidity, in our opinion.

China Bistro

  • Sunday to Wednesday – 11:30 AM to 12 AM
  • Thursday to Saturday – 11:30 AM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 100 per person

Want to travel around Asia? We think your palate can go first at China Bistro. We’re in awe that it serves a wide array of Pan-Asian dishes! Besides China, you’ll also find Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Korea, and Indonesia in the mix.

We appreciate that there are tons of hearty foods here if you’ve had a long day or are just arriving famished. We suggest diving into the Schezwan fried rice, Thai green prawn curry, or spicy tofu sushi rolls first!

In our book, the sugar rush also seems worth it from the steamed coconut dumplings with honey butter sauce or date pancake.

Beastro Dubai

Address: First Central Hotel – Ground Floor – Barsha Heights

Contact Details: +971 4 454 4950, [email protected], [email protected]

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 6:30 AM to 11 PM

Pricing: AED 70 per person

Facebook

Always on the go? We think Beastro Dubai is a great all-day dining restaurant in Al Barsha—it’s where you can enjoy breakfast coffee, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner! We mean, what more can you ask for, right?

We suggest fueling up with sweet potato fries, a beef burger, or the signature club sandwich. For us, the kids might love the pepperoni pizza and BBQ chicken wings too!

But if you prefer starting your day on the sweeter side, we also believe the pancake stack and blueberry cheesecake are total knockouts.

Pak Darbar

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 4 AM to 2 AM

Pricing: AED 40 per person

Facebook

For us, restaurant-hopping is a never-ending adventure, and Pak Darbar gave us a new twist to savor—elevated Pakistani and Chinese flavors in one spot!

We liked the chicken BBQ kebab and mutton chops here right away. We also appreciate the veggie options here, like dal (spiced lentil stew). But don’t worry too much about the heat, since you can always have the spice levels adjusted.

On top of that, we’re happy with the long list of sweets! If you can’t decide, our recommendation is to go for the classic custard, jalebi (a syrupy fried dessert), or mixed sweets.

Sayapatri Star

Address: Al Sharawi School – Al Barsha 1

Contact Details: +971 56 855 1790, [email protected]

Operating Hours:

  • Monday – 8:30 AM to 2 AM
  • Tuesday to Sunday – 10 AM to 2 AM

Pricing: AED 35 per person

Facebook

We think it’s not every day you’ll find a good Nepalese restaurant like Sayapatri Star—it offers a broad range of traditional meals, Newari khaja set (from Nepal’s Newar community), salads, and more!

For us, the momos (dumplings) and biryanis (fragrant rice dish) are the main course heroes. Why not order a 10-piece platter of steamed dumplings—they’re pretty cheap yet so moreish!

Unfortunately, there aren’t that many desserts here. Alternatively, we suggest trying the lassi plain (Punjabi yogurt-based smoothie) or lassi banana beverage instead!

Barbeque Nation

  • Monday to Friday – 12 PM to 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM to 11 PM
  • Saturday to Sunday – 8 AM to 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM to 11 PM

Pricing: AED 90 per person

Facebook

For regulars, Barbeque Nation’s Indian food feels like a warm embrace. We adore that this restaurant in Al Barsha welcomes all ages—even 1-year-old babies are catered to!

In our opinion, the barbecued chicken, mutton chops, and potato wedges are what good food is about. Should that not be enough, we suggest going big with the dinner buffet to satisfy all your Indian food cravings!

Of course, we believe you shouldn’t skip the chocolate kulfi (frozen dessert) or gulab jamun (sweet, syrup-soaked dumplings) with vanilla ice cream for a sweet capper.

Khun Chai Thai

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday – 11 AM to 11 PM

Pricing: AED 85 per person

Facebook

Apart from Khun Chai Thai’s sweet and sour cuisine in Al Barsha Mall, we believe you’ll love its reasonably priced authentic dishes! We also appreciate the intimate setting, which looks great for family gatherings and crew hangouts.

The standout dishes for us are the tom yum (spicy and sour) seafood soup, pad Thai noodles, and green curry chicken. And in our book, the mango sticky rice is the perfect treat to wrap things up.

Otherwise, you may go for an exotic smoothie like watermelon or avocado to get your fix for sweet, tropical flavors.

Wakha

Contact Details: +971 4 347 0788, [email protected]

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday – 12 PM to 12 AM
  • Friday to Saturday – 12 PM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 100 per person

Facebook

Afghan and Pakistani cuisine enthusiasts are in for a treat at Wakha. You’ll be expecting a distinct menu, so we feel it’s great to start with green tea to cleanse your palate.

Now, we think you can tackle your hunger nicely with the lamb karahi (curry), spicy chicken tikka (grilled chunks), and chapal (miced veal) kebab.

Note that there aren’t lots of desserts here, but we reckon you can always enjoy a creamy lassi (Punjabi yogurt-based drink)—still a bit sugary but a healthier alternative!
